Lexi Kilfoyl
Biography
Personal: Kilfoyl is the daughter of Darin and Christine Kilfoyl, and she has four siblings. Her brother, Darin, played baseball at St. Johns River State College from 2017-19 before competing at North Florida from 2020-22. Her youngest brother, Andrew, plays football at South Florida. She also has an older half brother named Kasey and an older half sister named Kaela. Kilfoyl was a two-time selection as the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year during her high school career and led Academy of the Lakes to 2018 and 2019 Florida state titles.
College Experience: Kilfoyl is a two-year letter winner at Oklahoma State after spending her first three seasons at Alabama. She appeared in 124 career games with 80 starts, compiling a 70-21 record with seven saves. Kilfoyl authored a 1.70 career earned run average with 549 strikeouts over 565.0 innings. She also registered 54 complete games and 20 shutouts during her college career. Kilfoyl is a two-way player who hit .237 with four home runs and 24 runs batted in over 99 games. Notably, she hit a home run in each of her final four seasons. During her time at Oklahoma State, Kilfoyl accumulated a 42-10 record over two seasons with 11 shutouts and five saves, along with 282 strikeouts and 29 complete games. She was recognized as a consensus First-Team All-America selection by NFCA, Softball America, and D1Softball as a graduate student. Kilfoyl was also a top 3 finalist for the 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Additionally, she received Third-Team NFCA All-America plaudits during her senior season at Oklahoma State. Kilfoyl was honored as the 2024 Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year and was a unanimous choice for the All-Big 12 First Team after compiling a 26-5 record with three saves and a career-best 1.20 earned run average. She tallied 152 strikeouts over 180.2 innings in 2024 while leading the Cowgirls to an NCAA Women’s College World Series appearance, limiting opposing hitters to a .173 batting average. As the only player in the NCAA Tournament to post a 5-0 record during Regional and Super Regional play, Kilfoyl posted a 0.75 earned run average with 27 strikeouts over 28.0 innings. She also fashioned seven shutouts in her final season at Oklahoma State, including five against nationally-ranked opponents. Kilfoyl went 16-5 with a team-best 1.70 earned run average and 130 strikeouts in 139.2 innings as a senior to earn Second-Team All-Big 12 recognition. She allowed just one run in 8.2 innings over two outings at the NCAA Women’s College World Series. Kilfoyl posted a 2.06 earned run average over 54 appearances at Alabama from 2020-2022. She recorded a 28-11 record with nine shutouts and 25 complete games, adding 267 strikeouts in 244.2 innings, including 131 strikeouts as a sophomore. Kilfoyl was a member of the 2021 All-Southeastern Conference Newcomer Team. As a junior, Kilfoyl fashioned a 9-3 record with a 3.04 earned run average and 79 strikeouts in 80.0 innings. She made 23 appearances in the circle with 16 starts as a sophomore, posting a 13-4 record with one save and a 2.08 earned run average while striking out 131 batters in 104.0 innings. She also collected 10 complete games with four shutouts. Kilfoyl threw her first career no-hitter against North Carolina on February 28, 2021, allowing only one walk with eight strikeouts and struck out 15 batters as part of a combined no-hitter against Alabama State at the NCAA Regionals. She saw action in 13 games with eight starts during the COVID-shortened freshman season, composing a 6-4 record with a 3.12 earned run average and 57 strikeouts over 60.2 innings.
