Biography
Personal: Hull's twin sister, Lacie, played basketball at Stanford. Her father, Jason, earned Division III All-America honors at Whitworth in 1994. Her grandfather, John, played college basketball at Western Washington. Lexie Hull has two dogs. She would be working in finance or real estate if not playing basketball. She lists Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer as a person who has been influential in her life. She enjoys cooking, reading, playing Wordle, going on walks, playing cards and spending time at the beach or on a boat. She participated in volleyball, track and field, soccer and leadership as a child.
2023 Season: Hull was honored as the 2023 Athletes Unlimited Basketball Defensive Player of the Year. She was an All-Defensive Team selection who started all 15 games during her inaugural campaign in the league. She finished eighth on the final leaderboard with 5,411 points. Hull ranked fifth in the league with 3,200 win points and accrued 2,001 stat points to finish ninth in league standings. She compiled 210 MVP points on the strength of three Game MVP awards. She posted three games with 500 or more leaderboard points, including a season-best 691 points against Team Cole on February 24. She also tallied 609 leaderboard points in the Week Two opener against Team Hillmon before closing the season with 529 points against Team Sims. She averaged 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She tied for first in the league with 26 steals. She collected 12 blocked shots in 15 games, good for a share of fifth place in league rankings and tied for fifth in the circuit with 35 offensive rebounds and 97 total caroms. Hull shot 41.7 percent from the field and 90.5 percent at the foul line. She scored a season-high 26 points in the February 24 matchup against Team Cole, converting 9-of-15 shots from the field. She also matched the Athletes Unlimited single-game record with six three-pointers en route to securing MVP 1 distinction. Hull started Week Two with a 21-point performance against Team Hillmon by sinking 7-of-11 field goal attempts along with a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the charity stripe. She notched her first Athletes Unlimited double-double in Week Four against Team Sims with 13 points and season-high 10 rebounds. She finished the season with a 17-point effort in win over Team Sims.
Other Professional Experience: Hull is a two-year WNBA veteran who was selected with the No. 6 overall pick by Indiana Fever in 2022 WNBA Draft. She was a starter in 29-of-56 career games while averaging 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest. She earned the starting assignment in 25-of-30 games during the 2023 campaign. She posted a 4.6 scoring average while grabbing 2.7 rebounds per outing. Hull tallied a career-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, against Washington on July 7, 2023. She also collected 15 points against Las Vegas on June 24, 2023. She appeared in 26 games during her rookie campaign with four starts. Hull averaged 3.9 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest. She closed the season with double-digit scoring efforts in three of final four outings, including season-high 17 points against Dallas on August 6, 2012 … tallied five double-digit scoring outputs in her rookie season.
International Experience: Hull was a member of the Bronze medal-winning Team USA at 2022 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. She averaged 4.2 points per game while shooting 34.1 percent from the field (15-for-44). She also converted 4-of-6 free throws in the tournament. She led the United States to a Silver medal at 2022 FIBA 3x3 U-23 Women’s World Cup. She also represented Stanford at the 2019 USA Basketball Women’s 3x3 National Championship in Las Vegas. Hull advanced to the quarterfinals while playing alongside Lacie Hull, Estella Moschkau and Anna Wilson. She was a member of the 2023 USA Basketball 3x3 Pan American Team that won the Gold medal.
College Experience: Hull was a four-year letter winner at Stanford who started 103-of-127 games from 2018-22. She averaged 11.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game during her career while playing 27.3 minutes per contest. She shot 39.9 percent from the field, including .374 mark from three-point range, while converting 78.7 percent of her career free throw attempts. She was a member of the 2021 NCAA Championship team while guiding the Cardinal to three Pac-12 Conference Tournament titles. She also helped Stanford win a pair of Pac-12 regular season crowns. She earned All-Pac-12 Conference recognition three times in addition to a pair of Pac-12 All-Defensive Team commendations. She was the recipient of the 2022 Senior CLASS Award along with NCAA Elite 90 Award. Hull was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team selection. She was honored as the 2022 Pac-12 Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She averaged 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a senior while starting 35 contests. She netted a career-high 36 points in her final appearance at Maples Pavilion against Kansas in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Championship. She posted 20 points in a game five times during her senior season. Hull started 32 games as a junior while averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at 2021 NCAA Final Four after posting a pair of double-double efforts against South Carolina and Arizona. She was a starter in all 33 games during her sophomore year, averaging 13.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per outing. She shot a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line against Texas on December 22, 2019, becoming the ninth player in program history with perfect free throw percentage in at least 10 attempts. She played 27 games as a freshman with three starts. She also became first freshman in program history with a double-double in her debut after registering 11 points with 11 rebounds against UC Davis.
