Mira Shane
Biography
Personal: Shane is the Co-Chairperson of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse's Player Executive Committee. She also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Michigan during the 2021 season. She is passionate about social justice, mental health, and music.
2022 Season: Shane played in one game and earned 746 leaderboard points. Her highest-scoring game was in the Week Two opener against Team Johansen, where she scored 143 points. In that game, she played in the second half and made three saves. She also had a strong performance against Team Arsenault, earning 115 leaderboard points.
2021 Season: Shane recorded 930 leaderboard points. She had three games with 100 or more points and finished the season with 34 saves. Her best game was against Team Cummings in the Week Five opener, where she made eight saves. She also had notable performances against Team Wood and Team Waters, making six and five saves respectively.
At Michigan: Shane had a successful college career at the University of Michigan. She played for four years and started in 40 out of 64 games from 2016-2019. Throughout her career, she maintained a goals against average of 10.80 and saved 45.1 percent of the shots she faced. She holds several records at Michigan, including most saves (360), most wins by a goalkeeper (24), and highest save percentage (.451). In her senior year, she received Second-Team IWLCA All-Region recognition and set single-season records with 13 wins and a .502 save percentage. She was also a nominee for the 2019 Tewaaraton Award and earned Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.
