Goalkeepers DiFatta, Read and Shane return for 2023 season

Read is an AU Lacrosse medalist, third-year player, and multi-time captain returning this season. She is the first player in AU Lax history to reach 200 career saves after finishing in a tie for second with 102 saves during the 2022 campaign. She led the circuit with 100 saves during the inaugural season, posting 10 or more saves four times.

DiFatta made her rookie debut with the league in 2022 after being one of 15 players selected in the Lacrosse College Draft. She was a member of Pittsburgh’s inaugural team after playing at Elon and Fairfield. DiFatta accrued a 37-31 career record with 661 saves and .493 save percentage.

Shane is a staple within AU as the co-chairperson of Lacrosse’s Player Executive Committee. She was a four-year letter-winner for the Michigan Wolverines from 2016-2019 before joining the league. In the 2022 season, she had a season-high 143 points in the Week Two opener, playing the second half and posting three saves.
