Molly Garrett
Biography
Personal: Garrett earned a bachelor's degree in sports management at Michigan and is currently working towards her master's degree in social work. Her grandfather played baseball at North Carolina, and she currently works with her father, Scott, at Boss Commercial Real Estate. During her high school career, Garrett participated in competitive weightlifting and qualified for the state championship. She credits United States Women's Box National Team head coach Ginny Capicchioni as someone who has made a difference in her life. In her free time, Garrett enjoys reading, going to the gym, and spending time outside with her fiance. She also loves taking her dogs, Albus and Miller, to the dog park. Garrett wears No. 98 in honor of the year she was born and worked as a part-time barista in college.
2021 Season: Garrett finished her inaugural campaign with 875 leaderboard points. She had three games with 100 or more points and scored eight goals with an assist in 15 games. Garrett had three multi-goal efforts and scored a season-high of 145 leaderboard points against Team Wood on August 16. In that game, she scored two goals and also had a ground ball and a caused turnover. She also had a two-goal performance against Team Cummings on August 15. Three of her eight goals were scored during Week One, including two goals against Team Benson. Garrett was one of 13 players selected in the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse College Draft.
International Experience: Garrett has also had international experience as a member of the training team for Team USA's 2022 World Championship squad.
At Michigan: Garrett was a five-year letter winner at the University of Michigan. She started 64 out of 69 games from 2017 to 2021 and tallied 95 goals with 10 assists in her career. She also registered 64 ground balls with 43 caused turnovers and 190 draw controls. As a graduate student, Garrett was selected as a First-Team All-Big Ten Conference player after leading Michigan with 35 goals. She also earned a spot on the IWLCA All-Region First Team and received Third-Team All-America distinction from USA Lacrosse Magazine. Garrett was selected three times on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. During her sophomore campaign, she received All-Big Ten honors after scoring 16 goals in 17 games. In 2017, Garrett was the recipient of Michigan's Pride Award.
