Destinee Walker

Personal: Walker's parents both played basketball at Delta State, with her mother, Sharon, also playing for the Bahamas Women's National Basketball Team. She has two dogs and is interested in modeling if she wasn't pursuing basketball. Her mother remains a significant influence in her life. Walker enjoys creating social media content and played tennis and volleyball during her younger years.

2023 Season: Walker concluded her second AU Pro Basketball season with 2,422 leaderboard points, which included 2,200 win points. She posted three games tallying 300 or more leaderboard points. She appeared in 14 games off the bench and averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest. She converted 19-of-46 field goal attempts, marking a 41.3% success rate. She had a standout performance in the Week Three opener against Team Hillmon, where she secured a season-high 439 leaderboard points by netting 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the field, inclusive of two three-pointers, and sinking both free throws. She dished out a season-high three assists in the Week Two finale against Team Smith.

2022 Season: Walker accumulated 4,032 leaderboard points, ending the season in 13th place. She crafted 12 games with 200 or more leaderboard points, with a standout season-high of 592 points during Week Three against Team Brown on February 12. Her accuracy was evident as she ranked sixth in the league with an .889 free-throw percentage, making 32-of-36 attempts in 15 games. Additionally, she ranked eighth in three-pointers and ninth in three-point attempts. The latter part of her season was particularly impressive, culminating in eight double-digit scoring efforts in the final 10 games, including three games with 20 or more points. Notably, she closed Week Four with a season-high 24 points against Team Harrison, showcasing a strong shooting performance. She also posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in a contest against Team Sims and exhibited exceptional accuracy in a 22-point performance against Team Brown, shooting 9-for-12 from the floor and making all eight free throws.

Other Professional Experience: Walked has played in Greece and Puerto Rico.

International Experience: Walker helped Team USA win the Gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Americas U-18 Championship.

College Experience: Walker was a four-year letter winner at North Carolina, where she played in 57 games with 51 starts, averaging 11.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She earned recognition on the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team after opening 31-of-32 games in 2015-16. She transferred to Notre Dame, where she played two seasons with the Fighting Irish. Her tenure at Notre Dame included being named Honorable Mention All-ACC in 2019-20 after leading Notre Dame with a 14.5 scoring average. She ranked eighth in the ACC with eight 20-point games. She set the Notre Dame single-season free-throw percentage record in 2020-21 after making 55-of-61 (.902) attempts. She concluded her college career with 1,381 points and was a three-time ACC All-Academic Team selection.
