Biography
Personal: White graduated from James Madison University in 2020 with a degree in sports and recreation management. She is the daughter of Michael and Shanita White. Throughout her club and college career, she wore the number 9, which she chose because it represents good fortune. White began playing volleyball when she was 16 years old.
Other Professional Experience: White played in all 24 matches for the Orlando Valkyries during the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation season, ranking seventh in the league for both blocks (50) and hitting percentage (.306). She has also competed internationally, playing for CSO Voluntari in Romania during the 2022-23 season, VBC Casalmaggiore in Italy in 2021-22, and LP Viesti in Finland in 2021.
International Experience: In 2018, White was a member of the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team.
At James Madison: White was a four-year letter winner at James Madison University, where she appeared in 97 matches and played in 335 sets from 2016 to 2019. She helped lead the Dukes to two Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament championships. As a senior, she was named an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention and earned VaSID First Team All-State recognition twice, including in 2019. During her senior year, White played in 93 sets across 28 matches, earning First-Team All-CAA honors. She ranked third on the team with 230 kills and posted a .329 hitting percentage. She also contributed 99 total blocks, including 10 solo blocks. She recorded double-digit kills in 11 matches, with a season-high 16 kills against Northeastern while hitting .517. White registered at least one block in 27 of her 28 matches and recorded four or more blocks in 15 matches, with a season-high of nine against Delaware. As a junior in 2018, White played in 112 sets across 29 matches, earning First-Team All-CAA recognition. She had a career-high 308 kills and 172 blocks, totaling 424.5 points. White recorded 17 matches with 10 or more kills and finished with a .356 hitting percentage. She had a season-best .722 hitting percentage with 14 kills against RMU and registered 10 or more blocks in three matches, including two with 11 total blocks. White was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week after collecting 24 blocks and 46 kills over a four-match span. As a sophomore, she earned Second-Team All-CAA honors, playing in 28 matches. She tallied 254 kills with a .349 hitting percentage and contributed 160 total blocks, finishing with 339.5 points. White posted two double-doubles and recorded double-digit kills in 11 matches, including a season-high 19 kills with a .517 hitting percentage against Hofstra. She recorded 10 or more blocks twice, with a season-high 11 blocks against the College of Charleston. In her freshman season in 2016, White played in 12 matches with four starts. She finished the season with 20 kills and 19 total blocks, swinging at a .434 clip with nine kills and five blocks in a match against Fairfield.
