Grubbs, Fischer, and Fields Join AU Pro Volleyball Championship
As the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship approaches, three League One Volleyball (LOVB) standouts have joined the competition.
Tessa Grubbs, Sophie Fischer, and Skylar Fields, all coming off strong seasons in the 2025 LOVB, are ready to showcase their talents on a new stage. With impressive collegiate careers and successful international stints, these players bring a wealth of experience to the AU Pro Volleyball Championship.
Tessa Grubbs
Tessa Grubbs is an opposite hitter who is no stranger to high-level competition. After her successful career at the University of Tennessee, where she earned SEC All-Freshman honors and three SEC Offensive Player of the Week awards, Grubbs made a name for herself internationally. She has played in Slovenia, France, and Switzerland, earning multiple honors, including Swiss League MVP and Best Scorer during the 2022/23 season. She also claimed Best Server titles in both 2023 and 2024.
In LOVB’s 2025 season with Atlanta, she posted a season-high 23-kill performance against Salt Lake. Grubbs accumulated 87 kills, 35 digs, and nine blocks over eight matches, despite dealing with an ankle injury that kept her sidelined in February and March. She will bring her strong offensive presence to AU, aiming to continue her success at the professional level.
Sophie Fischer
Sophie Fischer, a middle blocker, has had a standout career in both collegiate and international volleyball. Fischer capped off her time at the University of Georgia with multiple accolades, including 2023 SEC Player of the Year and AVCA Second Team All-American honors. She was also a three-time All-SEC honoree and played a key role in the U.S. Women’s National Team’s silver medal finish at the 2024 NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six.
Fischer is coming off a season with LOVB Salt Lake for the league’s inaugural season. She left Georgia as the program’s all-time leader in block assists and blocks per set, finishing her career as one of the top performers in the SEC. Fischer’s powerful presence at the net will make her a serious contender this Fall.
Skylar Fields
Opposite hitter Skylar Fields joins AU after an impressive collegiate career and a solid 2025 season in LOVB. Fields was a three-time All-American and earned First Team honors in 2022 and 2023 while playing at USC. She also earned Third Team recognition in 2021 at Texas. She holds a host of international experience from her time playing professionally in Italy and stints with the U.S. National Team at the youth, junior youth, and collegiate levels.
In LOVB’s 2025 season, Fields showed her scoring ability, amassing 157 kills, 49 digs, and 19 blocks. Her standout performance came with a season-high 25 kills in a match against LOVB Austin in February. Fields’ international experience and explosive offensive capabilities will make her a player to watch as she transitions to AU.
The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3). Series ticket deposits for both locations are now available here.
