Olympians Jordan Thompson, Micha Hancock Join 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship
The Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship just landed two heavy hitters.
Olympic gold and silver medalists Jordan Thompson and Micha Hancock are officially set to make their Athletes Unlimited debut in the 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship this fall, throwing their hats into the ring of 44 athletes set to compete for the crown.
Thompson has been a fixture in the U.S. Women’s National Team since 2019 and quickly became one of its most dominant scoring threats. She helped lead the U.S. to its first-ever Olympic gold medal in women’s volleyball at the Tokyo Games in 2021, then followed it with a silver medal in Paris in 2024. She’s also a two-time Volleyball Nations League gold medalist and was named Best Opposite at the 2023 NORCECA Championship after leading the U.S. in scoring during the tournament.
Her professional career has taken her to the top leagues in the world. She’s played for elite clubs in Turkey and Italy, including powerhouse teams Eczacıbaşı Dynavit and VakıfBank. In 2024, she helped her club to silver medals at the Italian Cup and the FIVB Club World Championships. Known for her size, explosiveness, and ability to score from anywhere on the court, Thompson has consistently ranked among the top opposites in international volleyball.
She also remains one of the most decorated players in Cincinnati volleyball history. In 2019, she led all NCAA players with 6.38 kills per set and posted a 50-kill performance in the NCAA Tournament. She graduated as the program’s all-time leader in kills.
Hancock has anchored the U.S. Women’s National Team since 2016, starting at setter in both Olympic medal runs. She earned gold in Tokyo in 2021 and silver in Paris in 2024, helping guide Team USA’s offense through two of its most successful Olympic cycles. She’s also a three-time Volleyball Nations League gold medalist, a two-time Pan American Cup MVP, and has earned multiple Best Setter honors on the international stage.
At the club level, Hancock has spent several seasons in Italy’s Serie A1, earning Best Server honors three years in a row while running the offense for Igor Gorgonzola Novara. Her left-handed attack, aggressive serve, and fast tempo have made her one of the most difficult setters to defend in the world.
Together, Thompson and Hancock bring four Olympic medals, multiple international championships, and years of elite-level experience to Athletes Unlimited. Their arrival marks a major addition to AU’s growing roster of global talent.
The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3). Series ticket deposits for both locations are now available here.
