Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball wouldn’t be where it is today without Bethania de la Cruz, so it’s only fitting that she’s signed on for yet another year as the league transitions into a new era.

The 2022 AU champ will return for the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship, where her accomplishments over the years have established her as one of the league’s most consistent and accomplished players. She holds the top spots in several career categories, including leaderboard points (15,614), kills (791), attack attempts (2,008), and service aces (65). Her performance across seasons has made her a key presence in the league’s history.

De la Cruz also leads the league in set wins with 102 and has maintained a .596 set win percentage. She is the only player in Athletes Unlimited history to serve as a team captain every week of a season, with a 31-14 record as captain, and a 12-3 result in 2024.

Offensively, de la Cruz set single-season records for kills (233) and service aces (18) in 2022. She is the only player to exceed 4,000 leaderboard points in multiple seasons. She also holds the league’s single-match kills record with 27, as well as the record for career MVP honors, with 36 total awards.

Beyond the league, de la Cruz has represented the Dominican Republic National Team in multiple international competitions, winning numerous gold medals. She participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics, contributing to the team’s efforts in the competition.

In 2024, de la Cruz was part of the Omaha Supernovas team that won the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) championship. In 2025, she continued her professional career with the Jakarta Popsivo Polwan club, helping the team secure a final-four finish in the Indonesian Women’s Proliga.

As de la Cruz enters the 2025 season, her continued involvement in the competition and international volleyball solidifies her as a significant figure in the sport. She’s back, and she’s ready to make even more history.
