
Bugg, Hoffman, Casanova & Monserez Return for AU Pro Volleyball Championship
The sophomore class is back and ready to build on a standout debut.
Madi Bugg, Claire Hoffman, Heydi Casanova, and Marlie Monserez have signed on for a second year with Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball, bringing with them experience, momentum, and a hunger for more in 2025.
Madi Bugg ranked 16th on the leaderboard in her AU debut, finishing with 307 assists and 89 digs across 30 sets. The former Stanford All-American and three-time Pac-12 Setter of the Year has been playing professionally since 2016, with stops in top leagues across Europe. This past LOVB season, she was one of the top setters in the league, notching 397 assists for Atlanta.
Claire Hoffman tallied 2.72 kills and 2.37 digs per set over 46 sets in her first AU campaign. A three-time All-American at Washington, Hoffman recorded over 1,500 career kills in college and has pro experience in France. The six-foot middle blocker recently appeared in 15 matches for LOVB Salt Lake, averaging 2.72 kills, 2.37 digs, and 0.22 blocks per set.
Heydi Casanova made an immediate impact in AU last year, finishing with an average of 1.44 kills and 2.33 digs per set over 28 matches played. A former member of the Cuban National Team and a seasoned pro since 2014, Casanova has played in Romania, China, Turkey, and more. In her 2025 LOVB campaign with Salt Lake, she stood out on the right side, posting 137 kills across the season, including a 22-kill performance in the season opener.
Marlie Monserez averaged 6.97 assists per set in her rookie AU season, highlighted by a 40-assist outing in October. At Florida, she was a two-time AVCA All-American setter and ranks fifth all-time in school history with 3,689 career assists. She just wrapped her second PVF season with the Atlanta Vibe, totaling 998 assists, 282 digs, 61 kills, and 10 aces over 24 matches.
With proven talent and another year of pro experience under their belts, Bugg, Hoffman, Casanova, and Monserez return looking to elevate even higher in the 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship.
The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3).
