The full schedule, including television/streaming details, can be found here.
As of today, 28 athletes have signed on to compete this summer, including 11 players who helped the U.S. Women’s National Team win the Gold medal at the World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship last summer. The current 2023 season roster can be found here.
Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse will look to add to the roster by drafting 11 of the top NCAA players in the 2023 Lacrosse College Draft airing May 9 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on the Athletes Unlimited YouTube channel. Those drafted will be invited to join contracted returnees and free agents in the 2023 Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse season.
Like its other leagues, Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse features a range of scoring innovations to bring athletes and fans a unique and intense version of the sport. Individual athletes earn points based on both team wins and individual performance to become the champions in team sports.
Points are earned on every play and the leaderboard will change constantly. In addition, teams change each week with the top four athletes in the standings serving as captains and drafting their teams. At the end of the four-week season, the player with the most points is crowned as the league’s individual champion.
All four of 2022’s medalists, including Moreno (1st place), Sam Apuzzo (2nd place), Ally Mastroianni (3rd place) and Britt Read (4th place), will be returning for the 2023 campaign. Apuzzo and Read also finished among the top five finishers during the inaugural 2021 Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse campaign.
“Season three of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse is going to be explosive. Highlighted by 11 U.S. National Team Gold Medalists and additional talent that we will add following our 2023 college draft on May 9th, AU will bring next level lacrosse to Maryland this summer,” said Athletes Unlimited Director of Sport for Lacrosse Abi Jackson. “The two point goal area has been expanded and updated stat points will increase action for both the players and our fans.”
“We’re honored to have Athletes Unlimited return to USA Lacrosse for its upcoming season,” said USA Lacrosse CEO Marc Riccio. “Athletes Unlimited is doing a fantastic job of providing opportunities for the world’s best lacrosse players to pursue their passion while helping to raise the visibility of the sport. We’re excited to continue working with AU to support these players and give them a world-class experience.”
