Tess Clark
Biography
Personal: Clark studied marketing at Louisville and is the daughter of Sue and Andy Clark.
Other Professional Experience: Clark played for CV Alcobendas in Spain during the 2022-23 season. She was also a member of the Ladies in Black Aachen team in the German league for one year and played for SRD Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in France during the 2018-19 season.
International Experience: Clark was a member of the 2015 U.S. Collegiate National Team.
At Louisville: A four-year letter winner at Louisville from 2014-17, Clark played in 456 sets across 123 matches. She accumulated 419 total blocks, including 373 block assists, and ended her collegiate career with 1,127 kills, a .341 hitting percentage, and 1,365.5 points. Clark earned four consecutive Second-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selections and was named AVCA East Region Freshman of the Year after her standout rookie campaign in 2014.
In her senior year (2017), Clark played all 31 matches, finishing second on her team with 310 kills and totaling 60 blocks. She recorded double-digit kills in 17 matches, including four contests with 15 or more kills. She matched her career high with 19 kills against Pitt, and posted a season-high seven digs in the regular season finale against Syracuse. As a junior (2016), Clark earned her third Second-Team All-ACC honor after finishing the season with 270 kills on a .340 hitting percentage and 109 total blocks. She also contributed 333 points and set a career-high with eight digs against Syracuse. Clark recorded five or more total blocks in 11 contests, including a career-high 11 stops against Lipscomb.
In 2015, her sophomore season, Clark was named to the Second-Team All-ACC again, finishing the season with a .441 hitting percentage and 270 kills. She totaled 117 blocks and was named ACC Player of the Week after outstanding performances against Miami and No. 20 Florida State. She finished the season ranked No. 4 in the country in hitting percentage. As a freshman in 2014, Clark earned AVCA East Region Freshman of the Year honors and was named to the Second-Team All-ACC and the All-Freshman team. She ranked 14th in the nation with a .407 hitting percentage, recording 277 kills and 133 total blocks.
