Khat Bell
Biography
Personal: Bell studied health at Texas. She is the daughter of Kenneth Bell and Regina Williams.
Other Professional Experience: Bell has played professionally overseas for 10 years. She is a two-time champion in the Philippines League and has also won a title in the Korean League.
International Experience: Bell was a member of the United States Girls Youth National Team and competed in the 2009 FIVB Girls’ Youth World Championships in Thailand.
At Texas: A four-year letter winner at Texas, Bell played in 372 sets across 108 matches from 2011 to 2014. She was instrumental in leading the Longhorns to the 2012 NCAA Division I championship. Bell earned AVCA All-America honors three times, including Second-Team recognition as a senior, and received Volleyball Magazine All-America honors twice, earning Second-Team status as a junior. She was also a two-time AVCA All-Region honoree and a four-time All-Big 12 Conference selection, achieving First-Team distinction in her final three seasons. Bell finished her collegiate career with 827 kills and a .297 hitting percentage. She also recorded 320 digs and 436 total blocks. During her senior season in 2014, she tallied 239 kills over 30 matches, appearing in 102 sets. Bell added 101 total blocks and 56 digs, reaching double-digit kills in eight matches, including a season-high 15 kills against Kansas. She also posted five or more blocks in eight contests, with a season-best eight blocks against West Virginia. As a junior, Bell played in 98 sets over 27 matches with 26 starts. She contributed 188 kills, 14 service aces, 76 digs, and 137 total blocks, including a season-high 16 kills in the NCAA Tournament against American. In 2012, she played in all 31 matches, helping the Longhorns win the NCAA championship. Bell posted 216 kills on a .325 hitting percentage and had a career-high 142 total blocks that season. As a freshman, she recorded 184 kills in 20 matches and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors.
