Alli Linnehan
Biography
Personal: Linnehan graduated from Kentucky with summa cum laude honors, earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She married Riley Linnehan on June 24, 2022. Beyond her volleyball and academic pursuits, Linnehan also played basketball during her high school years at Christian Academy of Indiana. Her love for animals is evident in her dog named Ivy. Linnehan holds her former club coach, Sarah Drury Petkovic, and Kentucky head volleyball coach Craig Skinner in high regard, as they have played significant roles in her life. If not for volleyball, her interests would have led her to play basketball, become a teacher, or be involved in her family’s business. Her childhood was marked by participation in basketball and club volleyball. In her leisure time, Linnehan enjoys the outdoors, indulging in activities such as hiking and swimming. She also has a penchant for exploring new areas and cherishes moments spent with friends and family.
Other Professional Experience: Linnehan played for Neptunes de Nantes in France during the 2022-23 season.
International Experience: Contributing to Team USA's success, Linnehan played a pivotal role in the team's Silver medal victory at the 2022 NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six Tournament. She was part of a squad that included several fellow Athletes Unlimited players, such as Dani Drews, Hana Lishman, Tori Dilfer, Ali Bastianelli, and Ronika Stone.
At Kentucky: Over her four-year tenure at Kentucky, Linnehan appeared in 118 matches from 2018 to 2021, earning three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America honors. She secured First-Team accolades in her junior year and Second-Team honors in both her sophomore and senior seasons. Her remarkable journey was punctuated by being named the 2021 AVCA Southeast Region and Southeastern Conference Player of the Year. Earning recognition as a standout player extended to being a three-time AVCA All-Southeast Region and All-SEC selection, along with earning Academic All-SEC distinctions. She accumulated 1,386 kills and 954 digs during her college career. She added 111 service aces to her repertoire. Sporting a .256 career hitting percentage, her junior year stood out with an impressive .345 mark. Her legacy at Kentucky is etched as she ranks eighth on the school's career kills list and tied for fourth in career attack attempts with 3,907. Notably, her junior season showcased her exceptional ability with 382 kills, ranking as the ninth-highest single-season mark in Kentucky history. She is one of fiver players in Kentucky history with 1,000 or more career kills during the 25-point rally scoring era. She achieved 10 or more kills in 87 out of 118 career matches. She reached the 15-kill mark in 30 matches and achieved the 20-kill milestone five times. Demonstrating her versatility, she delivered 38 double-digit dig performances and notched 28 double-double efforts. A leader on and off the court, she guided the Wildcats in service aces throughout her final three seasons and led the team with 364 kills during her junior year. Her crowning achievement was leading Kentucky to the 2020-21 NCAA Division I Championship, contributing 26 kills in a decisive four-set victory over Texas. She guided the Wildcats secured four consecutive SEC crowns. Linnehan played alongside current Athletes Unlimited Volleyball athlete Leah Edmond during her career at Kentucky.
