Tweets of the Game: McCool scores first 2-point goal in league history
Marie McCool scored the first 2-point goal in Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse history and netted the game-winning goal on Sunday afternoon as Team Benson defeated Team Douty 8-6. McCool was named MVP 3 (+15) and earned 126 points on the day.
The two teams traded goals until McCool helped Team Benson pull away in the fourth quarter. Shayna Pirreca sealed the deal with the team’s eighth goal of the afternoon.

Becca Block was named MVP 1 (+45) for her defensive play for Team Benson, and tallied 152 points. Kenzie Kent, who had two goals, also earned MVP honors, being named MVP 2 (+30), Team Captain Angie Benson had five saves, including a crucial one to maintain the lead in the fourth quarter, and accumulated 115 points.
For Team Douty, Molly Garrett scored two goals and picked up five ground balls, tallying 116 points. Katrina Dowd and Sam Apuzzo also scored twice in the loss.
