Outfielders Jackson, Andrews and Mendes added to roster
A trio of outfielders highlights the latest Athletes Unlimited Softball roster additions. Jazmyn Jackson, Aliyah Andrews, and Nicole Mendes signed to compete in the 2023 AUX and Championship seasons.
Jackson has been a staple within the league, competing in every season since its inception. She’s started in 53 out of her 55 career games.
She saw her best performances at the plate during the inaugural season of AUX where she had a .333 average with 12 hits, including a double and a triple. During AUX Jackson registered at least one hit in 11 consecutive games to finish the season, driving in and scoring three runs.
She has served as a member of the Player Executive Committee and is the inaugural recipient of the Athletes Unlimited Civic Leadership Award.

Andrews is a repeat selection to the All-Defensive Team, earning the honors in 2021 and 2022. At LSU, she earned the nickname “Air Aliyah” for her spectacular diving catches and is no stranger to ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 list. That carried over to AU, where she was featured at No. 2 on August 6 during championship season 3. That same season she tied for third in the league with three stolen bases in four attempts.
Andrews’ best finish on the leaderboard was in 2021 where she broke into the Top 10 to finish eighth overall. She garnered a .319 batting average, tied for eighth in the league with 15 hits, and went 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts that season.

Mendes was a newcomer to AU in 2022, making her pro debut at AUX after finishing her career at Oklahoma. She was a starter in 9-of-11 games who tallied three hits and five runs scored.
In championship season 4, Mendes accumulated 1,200 points to finish in 27th place in the top half of the leaderboard. She tied DJ Sanders as the league-leader in win points. She had an 11-4 game record and logged inning-win points for 65-of-105 possible innings.
