Bria Hartley

Personal: Bria Hartley is the daughter of Dennis and Simone Hartley. She has an 8-year-old son named Bryson and also holds French citizenship. She majored in communication sciences at UConn. She was a two-time selection as New York Gatorade Player of the Year at North Babylon High School. She lists UConn head women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma as a person who has made a difference in her life. She also participated in soccer and lacrosse as a child. Hartley enjoys fitness and working out in addition to music and art. She also likes to spend time with her son and try new restaurants. She lists meeting Kobe Bryant as a time when she felt starstruck. Her proudest accomplishment is being a mom and providing a better life for her son. She has worn No. 14 for most of her career.

2025 Season: Bria Hartley completed her first Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball season by earning 10th place in the league standings with 4,175 leaderboard points. She ranked seventh in the league with 1,445 stat points and also collected 390 MVP points, holding fourth place in the circuit. She was third in the league with seven Game MVP awards and surpassed 500 leaderboard points in a game three times. Hartley started all 12 games and registered nine double-digit scoring performances, including four contests with 20 or more points. She was the seventh-leading scorer in the league with a 15.1 average. She also contributed 4.7 rebounds per contest and ranked third in the circuit with 51 assists. She posted 10 or more points in eight of her final 10 games, including the last four in a row. Hartley scored a season-high 26 points with eight assists and seven fouls drawn in the season finale against Team Sims, earning MVP 3 recognition. She garnered Game MVP status in all three contests during Week Two. She earned MVP 1 plaudits and 540 leaderboard points against Team Nurse on February 14 after scoring 21 points with six rebounds and four assists. Hartley tallied 23 points in the Week Two finale against Team Siegrist to secure the MVP 3 award, knocking down 8-of-15 shots from the field and 5-of-6 free throw attempts. She started Week Two with MVP 2 honors after netting 18 points with four rebounds and four assists against Team Harris. She collected a season-high 615 leaderboard points against Team Colson on February 7 after receiving MVP 1 accolades. In that game, she scored 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 effort from three-point range, while adding three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. She tallied 558 leaderboard points in her Athletes Unlimited debut against Team Bell. Hartley received MVP 3 status following the March 1 game against Team Bradford, where she scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds with four assists. She closed Week Three with an MVP 2 commendation after notching 20 points against Team Caldwell, shooting 8-for-14 from the floor with a pair of three-pointers.

Other Professional Experience: Hartley is a ten-year WNBA veteran who appeared in 245 career games with 131 starts while playing for five teams. She was the No. 7 overall selection in the 2014 WNBA Draft by Seattle before being traded to Washington. She owns an 8.0 career scoring average while collecting 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. She played 83 games over three seasons with Washington, including 34 starts, and averaged 7.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game for the Mystics. Hartley was a member of the 2014 WNBA All-Rookie Team. She was acquired by the New York Liberty in a trade prior to the 2017 season and was a starter in 62 of 92 games over three seasons with the Liberty. She posted an 8.6 scoring average while grabbing 2.7 rebounds per contest for New York. She signed with Phoenix before the 2020 campaign and saw action in 19 games over two seasons with the Mercury, averaging 11.2 points and 3.3 assists per outing. She finished third in the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year voting during her time with Phoenix. Hartley split the 2022 season between Indiana and Connecticut, playing in three games with Connecticut while appearing in 10 games with Indiana. International Experience: Hartley competed for France during the 2020 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament. She helped France secure an Olympic berth after averaging 7.7 points and 4.7 assists over three games during the group phase. She earned a Silver medal with France during the 2019 FIBA EuroBasket Championship. Hartley was a member of the Team USA pool from 2014 to 2016. She guided the United States to a Gold medal at the inaugural FIBA 3x3 World Cup in 2012. She also represented Team USA at the 2011 U-19 World Cup and the 2013 World University Games, earning a Gold medal at both events.

At UConn: Hartley was a four-year letter winner at UConn who finished with 1,996 points, 550 rebounds, and 559 assists. She played in 153 total games for the Huskies from 2010 to 2014, which is good for seventh in program history. Hartley led UConn to a pair of NCAA Division I titles. She was a two-time WBCA All-America selection in 2012 and 2014. She also received Second-Team Associated Press All-America notice in 2014. As a senior, she was a First-Team USBWA All-America honoree who ranks 12th on the Huskies’ career scoring list. She is seventh in UConn history with 259 career made three-point field goals and also stands eighth on the Huskies’ all-time assist ledger. She was a two-time All-BIG EAST Conference First Team selection and was honored as the 2010-11 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. Hartley was a two-time NCAA Final Four® All-Tournament Team pick. She started in all 40 games for the Huskies during her senior season and was the team’s second-leading scorer with 16.2 points per game, fashioning 10 or more points in 36 of 40 outings. She also produced 20 or more points in a game 12 times, including a season-high 30 points at Rutgers on January 19, 2014. She averaged 14.7 points per game during the NCAA Tournament and made 13 three-point field goals in the Huskies’ six victories. She is one of five players in program history to register a perfect 1.000 three-point field goal percentage in a single game after making all five attempts against UC Davis on December 5, 2013. Hartley earned a starting assignment in 28 of 37 games during her junior campaign, ranking second on the team with 136 assists while contributing 9.2 points per game. She registered 17 double-digit scoring outputs, including a pair of 20-point performances. She averaged 14.0 points per game as a sophomore, compiling 28 double-digit scoring performances, including five games with 20 or more points. Hartley contributed 12.5 points per game as a freshman while appearing in 38 contests, and she earned a spot on the NCAA Philadelphia Regional All-Tournament Team as a freshman after averaging 15.5 points per game against Georgetown and Duke.
