Maya Caldwell Makes Her Mark in Atlanta in Week 2 of WNBA Play
Injuries in the Dream’s backcourt may have forced a shuffle in the starting lineup, but Maya Caldwell turned that opportunity into a breakout performance in the second week of WNBA play.
The Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball fourth-place finisher stepped up in Atlanta’s dominant 79–55 win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday night, putting together her most complete outing of the WNBA season so far.
Caldwell dropped a season-high 12 points on efficient shooting, while also contributing 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. It marked her highest scoring performance since July 2024, and she matched a career high in assists (6), a mark she first hit back in July 2022. Her 12-point outing was second most on the team, trailing only Alisha Gray and Nia Coffey (18 points each).
The performance displayed the same all-around play Caldwell flashed during AU Pro Basketball Season 5, where she established herself as one of the league’s most versatile guards. With Atlanta now tied with New York for the most wins in the Eastern Conference (4), Caldwell’s two-way presence could prove critical as the Dream push toward early-season momentum.
Around the League: AU Pros Showing Out
Elizabeth Williams & Kia Nurse – Chicago Sky (0-4)
Despite two losses, the Sky got big lifts from two AU vets. Kia Nurse dropped a season-best 14 points, adding 2 rebounds and 2 assists in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks. Elizabeth Williams was a force on both ends all week — logging 9 points, 4 boards, 1 steal, and 2 blocks versus the Sparks, and 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block against the Phoenix Mercury.
Alysha Clark – Seattle Storm (3-2)
Clark continued her steady stretch with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in a win over the Aces on Sunday. She followed up with 6 points Tuesday against Minnesota, building off her Week One impact in her return to Seattle’s rotation.
Bria Hartley – Connecticut Sun (0-5)
Hartley reached double figures for the second time this season, scoring 12 points off the bench in Sunday’s loss to Dallas. It was her highest-scoring game of the year, and she finished as the Sun’s third-leading scorer for the night.
Tyasha Harris and Maddy Siegrist – Dallas Wings (1-4)
The 2025 AU Champ has been consistent despite a rocky start for the Wings. She posted consecutive 12-point performances versus Atlanta and Connecticut in Week Two. Harris, AU’s fifth-place finisher from Nashville, tallied her first double-digit scoring game of 2025, finishing with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal in Saturday’s loss to Atlanta.
Odyssey Sims – Los Angeles Sparks (2-4)
Sims continued her early-season surge with 13 points versus the Golden State Valkyries and 12 points versus Chicago to help the Sparks earn their second win of the season. Back-to-back double-digit outings from the 12-year vet highlighted how she’s flourishing after signing her first full-season contract since 2020.
