Kendall White
Biography
Personal: White played an instrumental role in helping Cathedral High School become the first Indiana 4A volleyball team to post an undefeated record (36-0) on their way to winning the 2015 state championship. She earned the title of a four-time All-State performer for the Irish, including three First-Team nods, and was also recognized as the Indiana Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year in 2015-16. White has a beloved dog named Lola and enjoys various hobbies, including cooking for others, attending concerts, crafting, dancing, spending time with friends, and engaging with TikTok. She lists Trader Joe’s as one of her favorite places to visit and has a diverse sports background, having competed in karate, swimming, softball, dance, basketball, and cheerleading during her childhood.
2023 Season: White completed her first Athletes Unlimited Volleyball season with 2,304 leaderboard points, finishing in a tie for 15th place with opposite Saskia Hippe. She secured a season-high 271 leaderboard points in the season finale against Team Linnehan after a 13-dig performance. White appeared in all 45 sets over 15 matches and ranked third in the league with 176 digs. She also ranked seventh in the circuit with 244 reception attempts and notched 42 assists. White recorded 10 or more digs in 12 out of 15 matches, including seven straight contests from October 8-22. She closed the season with 10 or more digs in five of the final six outings and registered a season-high 16 digs against Team Hilley on October 15. Additionally, she tallied 14 digs against Team De La Cruz on October 8 and collected 14 digs against Team Hilley on October 27. White posted three consecutive double-digit dig matches in Week Five.
Other Professional Experience: White spent three seasons with Terville-Florange OC in France, where she honed her skills and contributed to her team's success.
International Experience: White made her debut with the United States Senior Women’s National Team during the 2022 Volleyball Nations League. She played a crucial role in Team USA's triumph at the 2023 NORCECA Pan Am Cup Final Six, where they secured a Gold medal, and also contributed to winning a Bronze medal at the 2023 NORCECA Pan American Cup. Her impressive journey includes being a part of the Silver medal-winning squad at the 2022 NORCECA Pan Am Cup Final Six and earning a Bronze medal at the 2022 NORCECA Pan American Cup.
At Penn State: White was a four-year starter at Penn State who appeared in 136 matches from 2016-19. She saw action in 479 total sets, including a career-high 123 sets as a sophomore. White compiled a school-record 1,994 digs with 361 assists and 77 service aces during her college career. She was a three-time AVCA All-America honoree, including a pair of First-Team nods in 2018 and 2019 and the first libero in Penn State history to claim First-Team AVCA All-America notice. White was also the first libero in program history to receive back-to-back All-America recognition and became the first player in Penn State history to earn a pair of Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year awards, earning the distinction as a junior and senior. White received three All-Big Ten commendations in addition to three AVCA All-Region certificates. At Penn State, White set single-season records as a junior with 558 digs and 4.76 digs/set average. She fashioned 32 digs in a match twice, which ranked second during the program’s 25-point rally-scoring era.
White was selected unanimously for the First-Team All-Big Ten selection as a senior after ranking fourth in the conference with 474 digs. She posted 10 or more digs in a match 29 times, including five matches with at least 20 digs. White also earned unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten recognition as a senior after ranking fourth in the conference in digs (558) and third in digs per set (4.73). She became the first player in Penn State with 30 or more digs in multiple matches during a single season and helped Nittany Lions hold opponents to .170 hitting percentage. She earned Second-Team AVCA All-America honors during her sophomore year after ranking fifth in the Big Ten with 455 digs. White is the only libero selected to the 2017 All-Big Ten Team. She also fashioned 25 double-digit dig efforts as a sophomore, including four matches with 20 or more digs. White was named to the 2016 All-Big Ten Freshman Team after accumulating 500 digs over 34 matches. Her career at Penn State was shared with notable teammates such as Nia Reed and Gabby Blossom.
