Biography
Personal: At Louisville, Chaussee majored in sports administration and earned her master's degree in business administration. She acknowledges her sister, Emily, as a person who has made a significant difference in her life. If she were not pursuing a volleyball career, Chaussee's passion for photography might have led her to become a wedding photographer. Her sports background includes soccer, in addition to volleyball, during her childhood. Chaussee enjoys photography and spending time outdoors. "Criminal Minds" is her favorite TV show, and she has a taste for wings and ribs. She's also a fan of the Green Bay Packers, a renowned NFL team.
2023 Season: Chaussee earned a 10th place finish in the league standings after accruing 2,939 leaderboard points during her first Athletes Unlimited season. She was one of two outside hitters named to the All-Position Team and ranked fourth in the league with 1,659 stat points. Additionally, she was fifth in the circuit with 260 MVP points after receiving five Match MVP awards. Chaussee was one of six players in the league to accumulate 400 or more leaderboard points in a match during the season. She posted five double-doubles during her rookie campaign and appeared in 44 sets over 15 matches. Chaussee ranked second in the league with 222 kills and led the circuit with 637 attack attempts and 370 reception attempts. She also ranked 11th in the league with 114 digs. Chaussee registered 10 or more kills in eight consecutive matches from October 13-29, including two outings with 20 or more kills. She matched the Athletes Unlimited Volleyball single-match record with 27 kills against Team Edmond in Week Four opener, also recording 11 digs to finish with 347 leaderboard points in the MVP 1 performance. Opening the season with MVP 1 honors against Team Valentin-Anderson after posting 16 kills with 11 digs and starting Week Two with MVP 1 outing against Team Edmond with 24 kills and .380 hitting percentage to finish with season-high 425 leaderboard points, Chaussee received her second consecutive MVP 1 award on October 15 with 13 kills and 12 digs against Team Linnehan. She started Week Three by earning MVP 3 accolades against Team Edmond with 19 kills and 11 digs and closed the season with three consecutive double-digit kill performances in Week Five, including 13 kills and 14 digs against Team Nuneviller in the season finale. Chaussee recorded 12 matches with 100 or more leaderboard points, including six contests with 200 or more points.
Other Professional Experience: Chaussee played for CBF Balducci HR Macerata in Italy during the 2022-23 campaign, gaining valuable professional experience.
At Louisville: Chaussee was a five-year letter winner who appeared in 128 matches from 2018-22. She was a consistent presence on the court, playing in 408 sets and making significant contributions to her team. Over her college career, Chaussee accumulated 1,232 kills, 565 digs, and 124 blocks, showcasing her versatility and skills on the volleyball court. She also registered 46 service aces. Chaussee's standout performance in 2022 earned her recognition as the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year. She led the Cardinals with 452 kills while maintaining an impressive hitting percentage of .304. Her leadership on the court was evident as she led Louisville with 493 points during her fifth-year senior season. Chaussee's dynamic play included five double-doubles, further highlighting her ability to impact various aspects of the game. She received First-Team AVCA All-America honors and was named AVCA East Region Player of the Year during her final season with the Cardinals. In 2021, she earned Second-Team All-ACC notice, showcasing her consistency with 14 matches featuring double-digit kills and a national ranking in kills per set. Chaussee also had a productive 2020 season, tallying 146 kills while appearing in 53 sets. Her standout performances included a 16-kill match with a remarkable .714 hitting percentage against Wake Forest, as well as contributing 21 kills in a match against San Diego. Chaussee's collegiate journey began in 2018 when she totaled 89 kills as a freshman while appearing in 40 sets. Her early success earned her ACC Freshman of the Week honors after a notable performance with 31 kills and eight digs in a four-set victory over Miami.
