Morgan DeBord
Biography
Personal: DeBord is the daughter of Darcy and Benjamin DeBord. She is the youngest of three children in her family. Her mother played club softball at Washington State from 1995-96, while her father played football at USC from 1993-96. DeBord was a four-sport athlete in high school, also competing in volleyball, track and field, and basketball.
2024 AUX Season: DeBord accumulated 670 leaderboard points while making her professional debut. She appeared in nine games as a rookie with four starts and tallied two hits in 12 at-bats while scoring six runs. DeBord registered a season-high 120 leaderboard points against Team Wiggins on June 11 and Team Nickles on June 23. She posted the first hit of her professional career with a single against Team Edwards on June 17 and scored twice in her professional debut against Team Wiggins on June 10. DeBord also plated two runs against Team Edwards on June 16.
College Experience: DeBord was a four-year letter winner at Loyola Marymount before completing her career at Minnesota during the 2024 campaign. She earned a starting assignment in 206 of 208 games during her college career, and she fashioned a .323 batting average with 17 home runs and 111 runs batted in over five seasons. DeBord tallied 196 total hits, including 31 doubles and 10 triples, while scoring 137 runs. During her only season at Minnesota, DeBord was a Second-Team NFCA All-Great Lakes Region and All-Big Ten Conference honoree. She also secured a spot on the Big Ten All-Defensive Team, being the Golden Gophers’ second-leading hitter with a .359 batting average while ranking third on the squad with 52 hits.
DeBord tallied three home runs with 27 runs batted in while scoring 36 runs. She registered nine multi-hit games, including five three-hit performances, and drove in multiple runs in a game six times. DeBord posted a 3-for-3 showing with three runs scored against UNC Greensboro on March 5, 2024, went 3-for-4 with a run scored against Michigan State on March 15, 2024, authored a 3-for-5 performance with three runs scored and three runs batted in against Illinois on March 29, 2024, and drove in four runs as part of a 3-for-4 outing with two runs scored against Ohio State in the series finale. She closed the season by hitting safely in seven consecutive games. DeBord batted .310 over four seasons at Loyola Marymount with 14 home runs and 85 runs batted in. She started 156 of 157 games for the Lions and registered 145 hits with 101 runs scored. DeBord hit .300 or better in each of her final three seasons at Loyola Marymount, including a .345 mark as a sophomore while starting 30 of 31 contests.
She ranked second on the team as a senior with a .307 batting average and 28 runs batted in while clubbing a team-high nine home runs. DeBord blasted two home runs and drove in seven runs against CSU Bakersfield on February 12, 2023, and went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs batted in, and two runs scored against San Diego State on May 5, 2023. She was a starter in 54 games during her junior campaign and earned Second-Team All-West Coast Conference recognition, batting .319 with four home runs and a career-best 38 runs batted in. She went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in against Kentucky on February 18, 2022, and drove in a season-high five runs with a double and a home run against Southern Utah on February 27, 2022. DeBord appeared in 22 games as a freshman during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, totaling 22 hits, including four doubles and two home runs, while scoring 12 runs. She tied for second on the team with 17 runs batted in.
