Alexa Gray has collected championship hardware on three different continents, and now she’s setting her sights on Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball.

The Club World Championship winner and former Italian Serie A1 MVP has signed on to compete in the 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship, adding elite international experience to an already loaded field.

The Lethbridge, Alberta native comes to AU fresh off another standout professional season with Eczacıbaşı Dynavit in Turkey, where she’s claimed two Turkish Cup silver medals and led the club to a 2023 Club World Championship title. Her championship resume also includes a 2022 Club World Championship with Italy’s Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano, where she earned Serie A1 MVP honors while helping the team capture both the Italian league and cup titles.

Gray has been a cornerstone of the Canadian National Team since 2017, collecting five international medals, including gold at the 2017 NORCECA Championships and the 2019 FIVB Challenge Cup, where she was named Best Scorer and Best Outside Hitter. She’s been a consistent presence on Canada’s Volleyball Nations League rosters since 2021 and has represented her country at multiple World Championships.

Before establishing herself as one of the premier outside hitters on the international stage, Gray built an impressive collegiate foundation at BYU. She became the first three-time AVCA All-American in program history. She earned WCC Player of the Year honors in both 2014 and 2015 while leading the Cougars to four conference titles and their first-ever NCAA championship match appearance in 2014.

Gray rewrote the BYU record books during the rally scoring era, finishing her collegiate career as the program leader in kills, points, and attempts. Her 2015 season was particularly dominant, as she set single-season records for attempts per set (12.9) while ranking second in both kills per set (5.24) and total attempts (1,435).

Now 30 years old, with nearly a decade of professional experience across South Korea, Italy, and Turkey, Gray brings both championship experience and offensive firepower to the AU championship field. Her combination of international success and collegiate dominance makes her a player to watch when competition begins this fall.

The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3). Series ticket deposits for both locations are now available here.
