The Grand Rapids Rise hit the road this week and came back home with a win. Outside hitters Claire Chaussee and Symone Abbott led the team to victory over the previously undefeated Atlanta Vibe on Friday night in four sets (25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22).

Despite falling to the Omaha Supernovas later in Week 3 of the Pro Volleyball Federation, the hitting duo continued to shine and showcase their prowess for the Rise offense.

Abbott led the Rise with 16 kills on 39 attempts for a .333 hitting efficiency against the Vibe. Chausee recorded her second straight double-double performance with 12 kills and 13 digs.

Middle blocker Kayla Caffey was also a major contributor with seven kills and three blocks. In the final set, Caffey sealed the victory with a kill and the match-point block on Leah Edmond, 25-22.

On Monday, the Omaha Supernovas delivered the Grand Rapids their first loss of the season as the final PVF team to lose a match. It was a back and forth battle – in the second set, the Rise reached set point six times. Despite the loss, Abbott and Chaussee both showcased their potential against a grueling match up.

Chaussee finished with a match-high 19 kills and added 15 digs, while Abbott also recorded double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs.
