Recap: Isabelle Harrison Drops Career-High 41 Points in Overtime Thriller

Team Cloud defeats Team Mitchell 105-101

DALLAS — Forward Isabelle Harrison scored 29 of her career-high 41 points in the second half and overtime as Team Cloud used a late rally to secure a 105-101 victory over Team Mitchell to open Thursday’s Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball action at Fair Park Coliseum.

Harrison, who registered the second 40-point game of her Athletes Unlimited career, was nearly perfect from the field after the intermission by making 11-of-13 attempts. The former Tennessee standout earned MVP 1 honors after adding a game-high 13 rebounds to close the evening with 834 leaderboard points.

Guard Natasha Cloud added a double-double of her own with 17 points and a season-high 15 assists, securing MVP 3 distinction and 586 leaderboard points. Forward/center Laeticia Amihere chipped in a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Guard Zia Cooke came off the bench to net a season-high 32 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the floor, including a 5-for-11 showing from beyond the arc, while adding five rebounds and three assists. Cooke received the MVP 2 award for her efforts, giving her 327 leaderboard points.

Guard Tiffany Mitchell paced Team Mitchell in the setback with 24 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while forward Maddy Siegrist contributed her league-leading fourth double-double of the campaign with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

KEY MOMENT

After forcing the overtime period, Team Cloud used an 11-0 run, including seven by Harrison, to take a 105-99 lead with 1:05 remaining in the extra period. The team made six of its seven field goal attempts during the game-deciding rally, including a perfect 3-for-3 each from Harrison and Amihere.

LEADERBOARD IMPACT

Harrison elevated her position on the leaderboard by 18 spots after becoming the fourth player in league history to record 800 or more points in a game. Cloud, meanwhile, took over the top spot on the leaderboard with a 132-point lead over guard Allisha Gray, who squares off against Team Sims in Thursday’s second game.

NOTES OF INTEREST

  • Team Cloud challenged a foul called against guard Laurin Mincy with 3:14 remaining in the third quarter, which was successful … Team Cloud also challenged a foul called against Amihere with 1:10 left in the fourth quarter, which was unsuccessful.

  • In addition, Team Mitchell challenged a foul called against guard Lexie Hull with 26.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter, which was successful … Teams are now 8-for-19 in captain’s challenges this season.

  • Team Mitchell and Team Cloud played in the seventh overtime game in Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball history … It is the first overtime game in the league since March 10, 2023, when Team Hillmon edged Team Sims by a 91-85 count.

  • Cloud has been a team captain in three of the seven overtime games in league history.

  • Team Mitchell and Team Cloud combined for 55 assists in Thursday’s game, marking the most assists in a game since February 26, 2022, when Team Cloud and Team Hawkins dished out a league-record 58 assists in a triple-overtime contest.

  • Harrison, who notched the sixth 40-point game in the league’s three-year history, becomes the first player in league history to record multiple 40-point games in their career … In addition, the 41 points are tied for the third-highest single-game mark in the league’s record book.

  • Harrison and Cooke became the first players to score 20 or more points off the bench in a game since March 10, 2023, when guard Taj Cole had 29 points against Team Smith on March 10, 2023.

  • Harrison accounted for all 41 of Team Cloud’s bench points in Thursday’s victory … Cooke, meanwhile, scored all 32 of Team Mitchell’s bench points in the loss.

  • Cloud registered the ninth double-double of her Athletes Unlimited career, including her third this season.

  • Guard Lexie Brown recorded 11 assists in the win for Team Cloud, setting a personal career high in her Athletes Unlimited career.

  • Brown and Cloud each registered 10 or more assists in Thursday’s game, becoming the first teammates to accomplish the feat since February 26, 2022, when guards Kelsey Mitchell (11) and Sydney Colson (10) turned the trick against Team Cloud.

  • Mitchell has scored 20 or more points in six consecutive games following her 24-point performance against Team Cloud on Thursday … She is tied with guard Allisha Gray for the league lead with six 20-point outings.
