Olympic Gold Medalist Justine Wong-Orantes Signs with AU Pro Volleyball
The Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Championship just got a major defensive boost.
Justine Wong-Orantes, one of the most decorated liberos in American volleyball history, has signed on to compete in the Fall, bringing with her a résumé that includes Olympic gold and silver medals, and a long list of international accolades.
The Cypress, Calif., native has been a cornerstone of the U.S. Women’s National Team for nearly a decade. She played a pivotal role in leading Team USA to its first-ever Olympic gold medal in Tokyo in 2021, where she was named Best Libero of the tournament. She followed that historic run with another standout showing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the team secure silver.
Wong-Orantes’ international success doesn’t stop there. She was recognized as the Best Libero at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, where the U.S. also captured gold. Over the years, she has helped Team USA claim multiple titles at the Pan American Cup and podium finishes at both the FIVB World Cup and the NORCECA Continental Championship. Her consistent excellence in the libero position has made her one of the most respected defensive players in the game.
Although she’ll be making her AU Pro Volleyball debut, Wong-Orantes will be returning to familiar territory.
She was a standout at the University of Nebraska, where she helped lead the Cornhuskers to the 2015 NCAA national championship and became a two-time All-American
Wong-Orantes now brings her world-class talent to Athletes Unlimited, further elevating a championship field already filled with international stars. With a legacy that includes Olympic medals, national titles, and individual honors, Wong-Orantes is sure to enrich the highly competitive pool of defensive talent in Madison and Omaha this fall.
The 2025 AU Pro Volleyball Championship will feature 44 of the world’s top volleyball players in an exclusive, high-stakes tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the sport. These elite athletes, handpicked from the best domestic and international pro leagues, will face off in the nation’s premier volleyball hubs in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena (October 1-15) and in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Alliant Energy Center (October 22 – November 3). Series ticket deposits for both locations are now available here.
