Nootsara Tomkom shines in Week 12 of the PVF

The San Diego Mojo is on the rise with help from their veteran setter Nootsara Tomkom.

She led the Mojo to two wins in Week 12 of the Pro Volleyball Federation, upping their spot in the league standings and earning PVF Player of the Week honors. Nootsara is the first San Diego player to receive the accolade.

Nootsara set a new franchise record for assists in the teams’ win over the Columbus Fury and then matched it again later in the week versus the Orlando Valkyries.

San Diego beat Columbus in five sets (21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 15-10) with Nootsara recording 49 assists and 18 digs. They went to five sets with Orlando too (25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 18-16) where Nootsara logged 49 assists again, this time with a team-best 29 digs. She also had 10 block assists against the Valkyries.

Across three matches Nootsara accumulated 122 assists, averaging 9.4 assists in 13 sets. She ranks third overall in the league for total assists (613) and her 10.9 assist average leads all setters in the PVF.

The San Diego Mojo has made a steady climb in the league standings, working their way up to fourth overall. They moved up from last place in just three weeks of play.

The San Diego Mojo only has one match in the upcoming week. They’ll hit the road to face the Omaha Supernovas on Saturday, April 20 at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT.
