Marlie Monserez Leads Atlanta Vibe to a Perfect Week 6 in PVF Play
The Atlanta Vibe is back on track in a big way, going undefeated in Week 6 of the 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation season. Snapping a tough three-match losing streak, the Vibe picked up two huge wins over the Grand Rapids Rise and Indy Ignite, solidifying their spot at fourth in the league standings. Atlanta has their eyes set on climbing even higher, fueled by renewed confidence and momentum.
Leading the charge? Marlie Monserez.
A setter known for her relentless drive and high-IQ play, Monserez has once again proven why she’s one of the best in the PVF. In the league’s inaugural season, she earned Second-Team All-PVF honors, ranking third in assists per set with an impressive 10.59 average. Her ability to run a fast-paced offense with quick, decisive hands keeps opposing blockers guessing and defenders constantly out of position.
And this past week, she elevated her game to another level.
Across both victories, Monserez racked up 112 assists, 43 digs, eight kills (hitting .533), and three aces, showing just how well-rounded and impactful she is. But what truly sets her apart is her ability to do it all and well. As a setter, it’s not just about dishing out perfect balls — it’s about playing tough defense, making smart decisions, and keeping the offense in rhythm, even when the pressure is on.

Opposing teams frequently target setters to disrupt their rhythm, forcing teams into out-of-system plays where liberos or defensive specialists have to step in to set, creating an advantage for blockers who can predict the ball’s destination. But Monserez refuses to be rattled. Her defensive tenacity allows her to stay in system, making sure her team has the best possible attacking opportunities.
Her standout moment came in the five-set battle against the Indy Ignite, where she dished out a season-high 60 assists, showcasing her endurance and consistency. But she wasn’t the only one breaking records — Leah Edmond delivered a season-high 25 kills, while Pia Timmer had a career-best .378 hitting efficiency. And in the win over Grand Rapids Rise, four different Atlanta hitters posted hitting percentages above .300, a testament to Monserez’s precision and ability to spread the offense.
With their confidence restored, the Vibe is looking to keep the streak alive as they prepare for a highly anticipated rematch against Indy Ignite on the road this Thursday, February 20th.
