Brittany Abercrombie, the 2024 Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball Champion, knows how to deliver when it matters most.

After the Orlando Valkyries fell in a grueling five-set battle against the Grand Rapids Rise, she didn’t let the loss define her team. Instead, she responded with a dominant performance just three days later, leading Orlando to a sweep over the Omaha Supernovas — who sit just ahead of them in the standings.

Abercrombie was unstoppable in the first set against Grand Rapids, racking up 11 kills and finishing the match with 17 kills and nine digs. As an opposite, carrying such a heavy offensive load is rare. Outsides typically handle most out-of-system plays and what is referred to as “junk” but for Abercrombie, it’s second nature.

During AU Pro Volleyball, she was her team’s go-to scorer in nearly every match, earning MVP honors in 11 of 15 games. She carries the same responsibilities for her Orlando Valkyries team. While she couldn’t secure the win against Grand Rapids, she turned the page quickly, proving why she’s one of the league’s most dependable players.

In the sweep over the Supernovas, Abercrombie led all scorers with 19 points, tallying 16 kills (.244 efficiency), 12 digs, two blocks, and an ace. Her composure in high-pressure moments sets her apart: calm, collected, and always ready when her team needs a point. At the professional level, opposites aren’t often a team’s primary offensive and defensive leader, but Abercrombie embraces the challenge. She made history as the first opposite (and the first non-outside hitter) to win an AU Pro Volleyball Championship, and now she’s bringing that same elite presence to the Pro Volleyball Federation with Orlando.

Currently sitting sixth in the league, the Valkyries are looking to build momentum and pull out key wins in this upcoming week’s competition. With Abercrombie leading the charge, the Valkyries have a chance to turn their season around and she’s proven time and time again that she thrives when the stakes are high. Orlando heads to Atlanta to face the Vibe on Thursday, February 6, at 7 PM ET, streaming live on YouTube. The match will feature nine Athletes Unlimited standouts:
