What a difference a week makes.

The orange team, led by captain Maddy Siegrist, made it clear that losses were no longer an option, as they stormed through the week with a perfect 3-0 record. The players who helped keep Team Siegrist on top are all captains for Week Three. Here’s how each team shook out the win points:

  • Team Siegrist: 3-0, won 10 quarters (1140 Win Points)
  • Team Harris: 2-1, won 6 quarters (720 Win Points)
  • Team Bradford: 1-2, won 4 quarters (420 Win Points)
  • Team Nurse: 0-3, won 4 quarters (240 Win Points)

These key players took advantage of opportunities in Week Two and moved up the leaderboard.

It’s Odyssey’s World

The player to watch last week is the same player who now sits atop the leaderboard: Odyssey Sims. Not to say “I told you so,” but I told you so.

Sims made an impressive jump up seven spots from Week One to claim the No. 1 spot and captain the gold team. With a total of 1,123 stat points for the week, Sims dominated every aspect of the game. She delivered a historic 41-point performance on Saturday, including 27 points in the first half, shooting 13-of-20 from the field. Her MVP 1 honors were well-earned, and her 941 leaderboard points in a single game set a new league record. With 22 career game MVP awards, Sims was expected to be one of the league’s top players but her recent play has taken her to another level, positioning her as a serious contender for the league championship.

Isabelle Harrison is back in the captain’s chair

With a remarkable 12-spot jump, Isabelle Harrison is once again positioning herself as a team leader, this time for the blue squad. Though she didn’t have her best performance on Saturday, Harrison didn’t need to carry the load alone. Team Siegrist, packed with sharpshooters, went 3-0 and Harrison’s standout showing in the Friday night contest helped her leap from outside the top ten to third on the leaderboard. The former Tennessee star earned MVP honors with 22 points and six rebounds, shooting 9-of-15 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, and posting a season-high 638 leaderboard points.

A Dark Horse: Sequoia Holmes

Sequoia Holmes’ numbers may not immediately jump off the page, but her impact on every team she’s been a part of speaks volumes. In Week Two, the AU Pro Basketball sophomore climbed 14 spots to rank sixth heading into Week Two. Her 1,140 win points as a key member of Team Siegrist helped propel her up the ranks. Holmes, one of the league’s top rebounding guards, grabbed 11 boards in Week Two while shooting 42% from the field. Now drafted to Team Harrison, it will be fascinating to see how she leverages this momentum, especially with teammates Lexie Brown and Harrison ahead of her on the leaderboard.

Player to Watch: Lexie Brown

Now with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, Lexie Brown continues to prove she’s a scoring threat. Brown has quietly remained in the mix as a player to watch for a medalist spot. She made a statement last week with an MVP 2 performance for Team Harris, contributing 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line on Saturday. Brown has scored in double digits in five of six games this season, bringing her total to 30 career games with 10 or more points. Her 642 leaderboard points last week could be the boost she needs to earn a spot in the captain’s chair by the end of Week Three, so keep an eye on her performance as a member of Team Harrison this week.
