Personal: Moreno majored in communication studies at North Carolina and is currently working towards her master's degree in educational innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. She has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was the first female in Huntington High School history to play on the varsity football team. Moreno has a boxer named Tyson and credits her high school coach, Bob Desimone, as someone who has made a difference in her life. In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, and graphic design.
2022 Season: Moreno won the Athletes Unlimited championship and was a member of the inaugural All-Defensive Team. She led the league with 698 stat points and finished second with 165 MVP points. She also tied for seventh place with 935 win points. Moreno set a record for AU Lacrosse with 132 saves in 12 games, including two games with 14 saves. She achieved 10 or more saves in 10 out of 12 games and had a league-record eight consecutive games with 200 or more leaderboard points. Her highest-scoring game was against Team Waters in the Week One finale, where she scored 241 points. Moreno was one of 15 players selected in the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse College Draft.
International Experience: Taylor Moreno was a member of the training team for the 2022 Team USA World Championship squad and served as an alternate for the team.
At North Carolina: Moreno played in a school-record 87 games from 2017-2022. Moreno also holds the school career goalkeeper record with 76 starts. She is North Carolina's all-time leader with 667 saves, which is the second-highest in Atlantic Coast Conference history. Moreno also holds the school career records for minutes played with 4,967 and goalkeeper wins with 70. She led the Tar Heels to six consecutive ACC Tournament titles and the 2022 NCAA Championship. Moreno was a three-time First-Team All-ACC selection and led the ACC with a .493 save percentage and 8.56 goals against average in 2022. As a graduate student, she recorded seven games with 10 or more saves, including a season-high 16 saves against Notre Dame on April 2, 2022. In 2021, Moreno was honored as the IWLCA National Goalkeeper of the Year and was named the ACC Defender of the Year. She was also a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2021. Moreno started all seven games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, finishing with an 8.03 goals against average and .478 save percentage. In her sophomore year, she ranked eighth in the nation with an 8.91 goals against average and fourth with a .532 save percentage, earning Second-Team All-America honors. Moreno redshirted the 2017 season due to an injury.
