Emily Nalls
Biography
Personal: Nalls is the daughter of Yvonne and Michael Nalls and has twin brothers. Her brother, Jordan, played lacrosse at Lindenwood, and her brother, Tyler, played lacrosse at RPI. She holds dual citizenship in the United States and England and majored in business at North Carolina. Additionally, Nalls played soccer during her high school career.
International Experience: Nalls led England to the Bronze medal at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship. She paced the squad with six caused turnovers and 11 ground balls. Additionally, Nalls registered 18 draw controls, standing second on the team. She tallied five draw controls in the Bronze medal game against Australia.
At North Carolina: Nalls was a five-year letter winner at North Carolina and started all 88 games for the Tar Heels from 2020-24. She ended her career with seven goals and six assists. Nalls also collected 165 ground balls with 105 caused turnovers and 181 draw controls. She was a two-time Top 25 nominee for the Tewaaraton Award. Nalls was a member of the 2024 IWLCA, Inside Lacrosse, and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America Second Team. She was a First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference and IWLCA All-South Region selection as a graduate student after leading the Tar Heels with 32 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. Nalls also contributed 60 draw controls. She opened the season with eight draw controls at James Madison and collected multiple caused turnovers in 9-of-17 appearances during the 2024 campaign. Nalls earned First-Team All-America honors from IWLCA as a senior after anchoring a Tar Heel defensive unit that allowed just 8.4 goals per game. She also claimed Second-Team All-America plaudits from Inside Lacrosse along with Third-Team All-America distinction from USA Lacrosse Magazine. Nalls was a First-Team All-ACC performer who started all 21 games during the senior campaign while pacing the squad with 33 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. She received Second-Team All-America status from Inside Lacrosse as a junior after pacing the Tar Heels with 22 caused turnovers and 49 ground balls. Nalls also earned Third-Team All-America commendations from USA Lacrosse and IWLCA. She started all 21 games during the sophomore season and led the team with 38 ground balls, also contributing 20 caused turnovers. Nalls was the lone freshman starter for North Carolina during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign and tied for the team lead with five caused turnovers. She was a two-time ACC All-Academic Team selection.
