Alex Aust Holman

Personal: Aust Holman served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Maryland women’s lacrosse team during the 2023 season before being named director of player development for the 2024 campaign. She also holds the position of director of Finish Line Lacrosse, where she organizes and directs camps throughout the United States. Aust Holman works with East Coast Select, a youth girls lacrosse club program, and joined the coaching staff at the University of Maryland as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2023 season. Furthermore, she is a fitness instructor who created a virtual community called The Sweat Life, training 400 women every week. In 2021, Aust Holman became a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and also stands as an Under Armour athlete. Her husband, Marcus, played college lacrosse at North Carolina and has enjoyed an 11-year professional career in Major League Lacrosse and the Premier Lacrosse League. Aust Holman has a dog named Biscuit and lists Maryland head women’s lacrosse coach Cathy Reese as a person who has made a difference in her life. If Aust Holman were not playing lacrosse, she would be a professional pickleball player. She also played basketball while growing up and achieved a second-degree blackbelt. Her hobbies include reading, playing pickleball with her family, cooking, and hosting parties at her house. Additionally, she enjoys fashion, makeup, and skincare. Holman chose to wear No. 34 in honor of former Maryland basketball star Len Bias and former Maryland women’s lacrosse goalkeeper Kasey Howard.

2023 Season: During the 2023 Athletes Unlimited season, Aust Holman compiled 859 leaderboard points in her third season. She netted eight goals with five assists while starting 11 out of 12 games. She notably scored back-to-back two-goal efforts against Team Moreno and Team Apuzzo to open Week Three. Additionally, Aust Holman tallied a goal with two assists in the Week Two finale against Team Apuzzo. Throughout the season, she notched four games with 100 or more leaderboard points.

2022 Season: Aust Holman was a second-year attacker. She started 6 out of 12 games and finished with 1,091 leaderboard points. She ranked ninth in the league with 920 win points. Throughout the season, she consistently scored 100 or more leaderboard points in six out of the final nine games. She scored a total of 11 goals and provided six assists. Her best performance came in Week Three against Team Colson, where she scored four goals and earned a season-high 174 leaderboard points. Holman also scored a goal in each of her first four games of the season. 

2021 Season: Aust Holman finished with 1,080 leaderboard points. She had four games with 100 or more points and scored a total of 16 goals, including a two-pointer. She started the season with a seven-game goal-scoring streak and had a standout performance in her debut for Athletes Unlimited, scoring five goals against Team Treanor in Week Two. She also recorded a season-high four ground balls and achieved a hat trick against Team Ohlmiller on August 7.

International Experience: Aust Holman has also represented Team USA in international competitions. She was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the 2017 World Cup. She scored 20 goals during the tournament, including six goals against England, and contributed seven assists. She is one of only 14 players in Team USA to have scored 20 or more career goals in World Cup competition.

Other Professional Experience: Aust Holman was the No. 2 overall pick by the Baltimore Ride in the 2016 United Women's Lacrosse League Draft. In her rookie season, she scored 13 goals and provided two assists in nine games. She also played two seasons in the Women's Professional Lacrosse League with the Upstate Pride, scoring five goals and providing an assist during the 2019 campaign.

At Maryland: Aust Holman was a four-year letter winner and appeared in 84 games from 2010-2013. She scored 143 goals and provided 132 assists during her career with the Terrapins. She also grabbed 54 ground balls. As a freshman, she helped Maryland win the NCAA Division I title. She is tied for second on the Terrapins' career assist list and ranks ninth in Maryland history with 275 career points. In her senior season, she tallied 55 assists, tying Jen Adams for the second-most in Maryland history. She was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award in 2013 and was selected as an IWLCA All-America as a junior and senior. She was also named the IWLCA National Attacker of the Year in her senior season and received All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors twice.
