Tiffany Mitchell

Personal: Mitchell is the daughter of Cheryl Mitchell and has an older brother. She graduated from South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in retail management in May 2016.

Other Professional Experience: Mitchell is an eight-year WNBA veteran after being selected by Indiana Fever with No. 9 overall pick in 2016 WNBA Draft. She was a member of the 2016 WNBA All-Rookie Team who has started 116-of-242 career outings. She spent her first seven seasons with Indiana before signing with Minnesota for 2023 campaign. She owns a career 9.2 scoring average while grabbing 2.5 rebounds per contest. She has converted 38.4 percent of her career field goal attempts while connecting on 88.9 percent of her free throws. Mitchell averaged 7.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while earning the starting assignment in 21-of-33 outings during 2023 campaign with Minnesota. She recorded 11 games with double-figure scoring, including six straight outings from May 23 to June 3. She notched a season-high 17 points against Dallas on May 30 and against Los Angeles on June 11. She averaged 6.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 16.3 minutes per contest while making 23 appearances with Indiana in 2022. She shot a career-best 45.1 percent from the field, including 38.7 percent from outside the arc. College Experience: During her tenure at South Carolina from 2012 to 2016, Mitchell was a four-year letter winner and a standout player, starting in 135 out of 139 games for the Gamecocks. She tied for third on the career games played list while ranking fourth in career games started. Mitchell started 103 consecutive games from March 3, 2013, to February 22, 2016, which stands as the second-longest streak in Gamecocks' history. She left a significant mark as the seventh-leading scorer in program history, accumulating 1,885 career points with an average of 13.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game during her college career. She is the first player in program history to be a finalist for all three National Player of the Year awards (Naismith Trophy, Wooden Award, and Wade Trophy) in the same season. Mitchell received recognition as the 2015 recipient of the Dawn Staley Award, acknowledging her as the nation's top guard, while also being a finalist in 2014 and 2016. She was a three-time All-America performer for the Gamecocks, becoming the first player in program history to receive WBCA All-America honors and earning various distinctions, including First-Team All-America notice from Associated Press, ESPN, USBWA, and Full Court Press as a junior. She was recognized with Second-Team honors from Associated Press after her senior season, along with a Third-Team pick by ESPN. She also earned Honorable Mention WBCA All-America status in her senior year. Mitchell was also honored as a member of the Associated Press and Full Court Press All-America Third Teams as a sophomore. Additionally, she was a three-time selection as Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, receiving accolades from the league's coaches and being recognized as the 2015 Associated Press Southeastern Conference Player of the Year. Academically, Mitchell earned Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as a senior, along with two Academic All-District certificates. She was recognized as the First-Team Lowe's Senior CLASS Award All-America recipient in 2016, highlighting her contributions beyond athletics. Mitchell was also a two-time team captain for the Gamecocks and received the University President's Award, the highest annual honor given to a Gamecock student-athlete, acknowledging her cumulative career accomplishments in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.
