Biography
Personal: Mikesell is the daughter of Kevin and Theresa Mikesell and has one brother named Clarke.
Other Professional Experience: Taylor Mikesell was chosen by Indiana with the No. 13 overall selection in the 2023 WNBA Draft. She was signed by the Atlanta Dream prior to the 2023 campaign after being waived by Indiana. She saw action in six games with Atlanta, averaging 2.8 points and 0.3 rebounds per outing. She netted a season-high nine points, including a 4-for-4 effort from the free-throw line, against Dallas on June 20, 2023. Mikesell also played overseas with Lointek Gernika Bizkaia in Spain.
International Experience: Mikesell led Team USA to a 6-1 record and the Bronze medal at the 2016 FIBA U-17 World Cup, where she averaged 5.0 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. She also piloted the United States to the Silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, averaging 5.0 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
At Ohio State: Taylor Mikesell accumulated 2,253 career points, 377 assists, and 470 rebounds over five seasons while appearing in 158 games from 2018 to 2023. At Oregon: Mikesell posted a 9.3 scoring average during her lone season at Oregon while leading the Ducks with 39 made three-pointers. She helped Oregon reach the NCAA Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive season.
At Maryland: As a starter in 66 consecutive games over two years at Maryland, she led the Terrapins to back-to-back regular-season titles in addition to the 2020 Big Ten Tournament championship. She earned All-Big Ten notice and Big Ten Freshman of the Year plaudits after averaging 13.4 points per game in 2018-19. She was selected to the All-Big Ten First Team by the league’s media while garnering Second-Team distinction from the conference’s coaches. She connected on a Maryland single-season record 95 three-pointers as a freshman. She was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection as a sophomore after contributing 11.2 points per game.
