Emma Cannon
Biography
Personal: Emma Cannon is the daughter of Carl and Patty Cannon. She collected over 1,800 points during her basketball career at the School of the Arts. She also established the school record with 1,800 career rebounds. She owns the high school single-game scoring record of 47 points and the rebound record of 35.
Other Professional Experience: Emma Cannon is a seven-year WNBA veteran who has appeared in 135 career games. She has played with five different teams, including Indiana, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Connecticut. Her career scoring average is 5.1 points, and she posts 3.0 rebounds per contest. Cannon began her WNBA career by appearing in 34 games as a reserve with Phoenix in 2017. She appeared in one game with Las Vegas in 2020 before splitting the 2021 campaign between Las Vegas, Connecticut, and Indiana. She appeared in 24 total games during the 2022 season, including 23 outings with Indiana. During the 2023 season, she averaged 5.8 points per game with the Indiana Fever in 30 games. Cannon returned to Las Vegas in 2024 and saw action in five games. She contributed 4.4 points per game for Los Angeles during the 2025 campaign while appearing in 21 contests. She has also played overseas in Germany, Australia, Israel, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, and China. During the 2024-25 season, she led the Euroleague by averaging 21.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. In 2025, she earned WBCA All-Imports First Team and All-Defensive Team accolades. She won two Israeli League titles with Elitzur Ramla in 2022 and 2023. She also owns three German DBBL championships from 2013-15, in addition to a pair of German Cup titles. Cannon was named All-Israeli League Forward of the Year in 2022 after averaging 20.8 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. She was also recognized as the 2021 All-EuroCup Forward of the Year after scoring 23.1 points per game for Elazig II Ozel Idare.
At Florida Southern and UCF: Cannon was a three-year letter winner at UCF before completing her college career at Florida Southern. During her lone season at Florida Southern, she averaged 15.7 points and a school-record 12.1 rebounds per game. She was recognized as the 2010-11 Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and a First-Team All-SSC selection. As an Honorable Mention WBCA All-America selection, she established a Florida Southern single-season record by grabbing 375 rebounds during the 2010-11 season. She also equaled the Mocs’ single-game standard with 21 caroms against Eckerd on March 5, 2011. Cannon tallied 1,154 points over three seasons at UCF. She ranks second on the Knights’ career list with 903 rebounds and 40 double-double performances. She also stands fourth in program history with 339 career made free throws. As a sophomore, she led the Knights in scoring with 526 points en route to securing First-Team All-Conference USA distinction. She also paced the Knights in rebounding as a sophomore and junior. Cannon set the UCF single-season record by grabbing 393 rebounds during the 2008-09 campaign. She claimed a Third-Team All-Conference USA citation during her final season at UCF in 2009-10.
