Adut Bulgak

Personal: Daughter of Ayen Alith, Bulgak majored in sociology at Florida State. She has two sisters and four brothers and spent most of her life in Canada after growing up in Sudan.

Other Professional Experience: Bulgak was selected by the New York Liberty with the No. 12 overall draft pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. Over two WNBA seasons, she appeared in 12 games, averaging 2.0 points per game in seven appearances with New York as a rookie. During the 2017 campaign with Chicago, she scored 4.4 points per contest in five games as a reserve, achieving a career-high 14 points against Connecticut on August 25, 2017. Additionally, she played overseas in Israel for six years.

International Experience: She guided the Canadian National Development Team to a Silver medal at the 2015 World University Games in South Korea. Bulgak was a standout in the tournament, averaging 15.5 points per game and ranking second with a 10.7 rebounding average. She also ranked third in the tournament by drawing 5.2 fouls per game. She contributed to Canada Senior Women’s National B team winning the title at the 2014 William Jones Cup in Taiwan, averaging 9.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

College Experience: Bulgak transferred from Trinity Valley Community College and spent two seasons at Florida State. She appeared in 68 games with the Seminoles, tallying 851 points and 591 rebounds. Bulgak secured 19 double-doubles during her time at Florida State and was recognized as an Honorable Mention WBCA All-America performer as a senior. She was a Second-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree by the league’s coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel, also receiving Second-Team Senior CLASS Award All-America distinction. As a senior, she averaged 12.7 points and a team-high 7.9 rebounds per game. Bulgak was a key scorer for the Seminoles, having 20 double-digit scoring outputs, including a career-high 26 points against UAB on November 22, 2015. During her junior year, she was the Seminoles’ leading scorer and rebounder, posting 12 double-doubles. Her standout performance led to her being named the 2014 NJCAA Division I Player of the Year by the WBCA at Trinity Valley.
