Micha Hancock

Personal: Micha Hancock is the daughter of Michael and Kelly Hancock. Her sister, Kelsey, played volleyball at Tulsa. Her mother played basketball at Oklahoma State, and her father was a professional boxer. Micha Hancock was a two-time selection as Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma and led her high school to three 6A state titles. Her hobbies include shopping, singing, and dancing.

Other Professional Experience: Micha Hancock began her professional career with Indias de Mayaguez in Puerto Rico during the 2014-15 season. She also appeared for Prosecco Doc-Imoco Conegliano in the Italian league and has played in Poland. Micha Hancock returned to the Italian league in 2017 with Saugella Team Monza. She also played for Igor Gorgonzola Novara, Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia, and VBC Trasporti Pesanti Casalmaggiore in the Italian league. Micha Hancock competed for Houston during the inaugural 2025 League One Volleyball season, where she tallied 544 assists with 159 digs and 10 total blocks.

International Experience: Micha Hancock has been a member of the United States National Team since 2014. She guided Team USA to its first Gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and also helped the squad win a Silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Micha Hancock earned three FIVB Nations League Gold medals with Team USA in 2018, 2019, and 2021. She collected a pair of Pan-American Cup Gold medals in 2017 and 2019. Micha Hancock also claimed a Silver medal with Team USA at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. She was named Best Server at the Pan-American Cup in 2016 and 2017, while also earning Best Setter in the 2017 competition. Micha Hancock received a pair of MVP honors at the 2017 and 2019 Pan-American Cup.

At Penn State: Micha Hancock appeared in 500 sets over 144 matches with 143 starts for Penn State from 2011-14. She was a member of two NCAA Division I championship teams as a junior and senior. Micha Hancock was a three-time AVCA All-America selection who was honored as AVCA Player of the Year as a senior. She closed her career with 5,578 assists, 294 total blocks, and 1,100 digs. Micha Hancock also contributed 509 kills and a .348 career hitting percentage. She graduated as Penn State’s all-time leader with 380 service aces. Micha Hancock guided the Nittany Lions to a National Championship as a senior in 2014 after appearing in 127 sets over 39 matches with 1,475 assists. She was named NCAA individual statistical champion by averaging 1.05 service aces per set and contributed 11.49 assists per set for the nation’s best hitting team. Micha Hancock was an AVCA Player of the Year and First-Team All-America selection who also claimed a spot on the All-Big Ten Conference Team. She finished with at least 30 assists in all 39 matches, including 50 or more helpers five times. Micha Hancock was named MVP at the Villanova Classic after registering 21 service aces, including eight aces against American. She guided the Nittany Lions to an NCAA title after playing in 127 sets over 36 matches as a junior in 2013. Micha Hancock was an AVCA First Team All-America selection who also received an NCAA Tournament MVP citation. She earned a spot on the Volleyball Magazine All-America Second Team. Micha Hancock was named Big Ten Setter of the Year and an All-Big Ten selection. She ranked second in NCAA Division I with 0.65 service aces per set and fifth in the nation with a .305 hitting percentage. Micha Hancock totaled 1,425 assists with 129 kills, 82 service aces, 74 total blocks, and 289 digs. She had at least 25 assists in every match, including a season-high 67 assists against Minnesota. Micha Hancock tallied eight double-doubles and also recorded a season-high nine kills against Michigan State. She registered 48 assists with 16 digs in the NCAA Championship match against Wisconsin. Micha Hancock competed in 125 sets over 36 matches as a sophomore in 2012. She finished with 125 kills, 1,403 assists, 81 service aces, and 76 total blocks. Micha Hancock collected a career-best 298 digs. She was a member of the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine All-America First Teams who also earned AVCA All-Mideast Region honors. Micha Hancock was named Big Ten Setter of the Year and ranked 28th nationally with 11.22 assists per set. She helped the Penn State offense rank third in the country with a .302 hitting percentage. Micha Hancock set a Penn State single-match record with 10 service aces against Binghamton in the NCAA Tournament and also established an NCAA Tournament record with 22 total service aces. She posted 10 double-doubles and set a season high with 61 assists against Nebraska. Micha Hancock compiled a season-best 23 digs against Stanford and totaled a season-high eight total blocks against Nebraska. She appeared in 121 sets over 33 matches as a freshman in 2011. Micha Hancock tallied 110 kills with 1,275 assists, 91 service aces, 279 digs, and 59 total blocks. She was named AVCA Mideast Region and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Micha Hancock ranked sixth in the Big Ten by fashioning 10.54 assists per set and established a Penn State single-season service aces record with 91 aces. She registered a season-high 60 assists against Wisconsin and boasted a season-best 19 digs against Illinois. Micha Hancock posted nine double-doubles and registered seven kills with 45 assists and six aces in her first collegiate start against USC.
