Willow Johnson dominates in return to San Diego Mojo in Week 14 of the PVF
The San Diego Mojo have been tearing their way up the standings for weeks and are now just one game behind the Grand Rapid Rise to take over the third-place slot.
The Mojo picked up two wins in three matches during Week 14 of the Pro Volleyball Federation, led by opposite Willow Johnson. She joins setter Nootsara Tomkom as a member of the Mojo to earn PVF Player of the Week honors.
Johnson was re-activated to the roster on April 18 and had an immediate impact.
In her home debut against Omaha, she recorded a double-double effort with 14 kills and 15 digs, helping the Mojo defeat the Omaha Supernovas in five sets. Things came down to the wire in their loss against the Vegas Thrill on Friday, battling it out to reach 15 points in the fifth set. Johnson tallied a team-leading 22 kills and added 15 digs.
The squad bounced back against Orlando on Monday with a victory over the Orlando Valkyries. Johnson logged 17 kills, nine digs, and three blocks.
The opposite averaged a .329 kill percentage across the three matches.
