Volleyball Season 4: Movers of Week 3
Brittany Abercrombie remains undefeated on the season and is now the only player without a loss through three weeks of play. Bethania De La Cruz-Mejía is on her tail, just 193 points out of first place, while Morgan Hentz re-enters the captain’s chair and Leketor Member-Meneh gets a second shot at leading her own team.
Here’s how each team shook out the win points in Week Three:
- Team Abercrombie: 3-0, won 6 sets (420 win points)
- Team De La Cruz-Mejía: 2-1, won 5 sets (320 wins points)
- Team Member-Meneh: 1-2, won 5 sets (260 win points)
- Team Drews: 0-3, won 2 sets (80 win points)
Mover of the Week: Temi Thomas-Ailara
Temi Thomas-Ailara had an explosive week on the court and the leaderboard with Team Abercrombie. The outside hitter made the biggest jump to 20th place, up 15 spots since Week Two.
It was a 773-point change, more than her earnings in the first six matches combined. Thomas-Ailara went from one attack attempt in the first three games to 65 in Week Two and 80 in Week Three.
She tallied 26 kills with 12 errors for a .300 hitting percentage. She played front and back row for the first time all season and proved to be sound in serve receive with a .480 positive reception percentage.
Her draft stock skyrocketed and Thomas-Ailara was selected in the second round with the 7th overall pick.

Alisha Childress showcases veteran prowess
Last week, Abercrombie selected Alisha Childress with her third pick of the draft, indicating the setter would see a starting spot for the first time all season. Not only did Childress start but she showcased what a veteran star could bring to a team.
Childress facilitated a dynamic offense, with four or more hitters in double-digit attempts every match. She logged 111 assists, along with 31 digs and five blocks.
She made the second-largest move up the leaderboard of any athlete, shifting up 12 spots and breaking into the top 15. Member-Meneh selected her with her second pick of the Week Four draft.

Breaking away from the pack
The upcoming week of games will be crucial for athletes to set themselves up for a medal-earning season and a top position on the final leaderboard.
There are two main races right now: De La Cruz-Mejía and Abercrombie vying for first and cluster of players aiming to finish in the top five. De La Cruz-Mejía trails Abercrombie by 193 points. In order to make that up, she’ll have to flip the win points in her favor. That includes winning their head-to-head match on Monday night; so far, Abercrombie has the upper hand winning both matches against Team De La Cruz-Mejía this season.
Hentz is 688 points behind De La Cruz-Mejía which is an unlikely and steep hill to climb with six games left. However, only 175 points separate Claire Hoffman in eighth place from Hentz in third. There could be some major shuffling in the Top 10 in Week Four with the possibility of two new captains in the final weekend.
Week Four Schedule
Week Four competition begins on Friday, Oct. 25. Team Hentz will take on Team De La Cruz-Mejía at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on FanDuel Sports Network and VBTV. Then, Team Member-Meneh will face Team Abercrombie at 9:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN+/
Tune in to see who remains at the top and who climbs their way up.
