Tennessee's Payton Gottshall signs with AU Pro Softball
Gottshall signs for AUX and Championship Season
Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball has signed pitcher Payton Gottshall. Gottshall will compete at AUX in Wichita, Kansas from June 10 to June 25, and the Championship season in Rosemont, Illinois, which begins on July 26.
Gottshall was selected fifth in the 2024 AU Pro Softball College Draft. She has been a force in her two years as a Tennessee Volunteer. She closed out her year as a graduate student for the Vols with a 20-5 record and a 1.37 earned run average. She threw eight complete games, recorded three shutouts, and picked up three saves on the year. Over 147.2 innings pitched, Gottshall had 164 strikeouts with an opponent batting average of .180.
Gottshall was named to the 2024 NFCA All-America First Team after leading Tennessee to their second straight SEC regular season title and a berth to the NCAA Super Regionals this season. The lefty came from Bowling Green where she was the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2022. During that season, she ranked second in the country in strikeouts (374) and innings pitched (253.1).
She closes her college career with a 1.70 ERA, 1,078 strikeouts over 799.2 innings, and a 94-37 career record. Gottshall had three seasons with 20 or more victories.

The fifth season of AU Pro Softball takes AUX on the road to Wichita, Kansas from June 10 to June 25 then to Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois later in the summer. Tickets for AUX and the 2024 Championship season are on sale.
