Softball Season 5: Movers of Week 3
Here’s how the Week Three teams performed:
- Team Palacios: 3-o record; 290 Win Points
- Team Kilfoyl: 2-1 record; 190 Win Points
- Team Lorenz: 1-2 record; 170 Win Points
- Team McQuillin: 1-2 record; 70 Win Points
Mover of the Week: Sharlize Palacios
Calling Sharlize Palacios’s move up the leaderboard a “jump” hardly does it justice. It was more like a vault.
Sharlize moved 31 spots up the board to break into the top 10 and rank eighth overall. Win points were a huge factor for everyone on the purple squad led by her sister Sashel Palacios. Sweeping the games and picking up plenty of inning points positively impacted every member of the team; eight other athletes aside from Sharlize moved up 10 or more spots in the standings.
For Sharlize, it was the long ball that paid dividends. She hit two home runs on the week, including a grand slam, and now leads the league in total homers with three. She was the highest stat point earner of the week and stands third overall in the category behind Amanda Lorenz and Lexi Kilfoyl.
She also earned first and second-place MVP honors for 518 total points earned in Week Three.

Neck and neck at the top
Sashel Palacios was in control of her fate as a captain and by leading her team to a perfect week, was right within reach of Amanda Lorenz in first place. Lorenz will lead the Gold team in back-to-back weeks although Sashel trails by just four points.
But this race to the championship is within reach for more than just the Gold and Orange captains. Kilfoyl is separated from Sashel by 20 points and Megan Faraimo in fourth is just 108 points out of first. Even 10th on the leaderboard is only 190 points from the top.

Player to Watch: Alyssa Denham
Don’t let her current leaderboard standing fool you, Alyssa Denham is on the rise. She didn’t have the win points to help her this week but her stat points are trending in the right direction. She was the highest earner in the category behind Sharlize in Week Three. In the circle, she put together 11 innings of work allowing only two earned runs.
