Shey Peddy Heating Up as WNBA Playoffs Loom for Indiana Fever

With the WNBA playoffs just days away, Indiana Fever guard Shey Peddy is finding her rhythm at exactly the right time. Peddy scored 13 points, grabbed two rebounds, and added a steal in Sunday’s 94-65 win over the Washington Mystics, marking her second-highest scoring effort since joining the Fever. Her season-high 16 points on August 24 proved she can deliver when it counts, and she’s doing just that heading into the postseason.

The 2025 Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball Defensive Player of the Year joined the Fever on a rest-of-season contract. Since signing, she’s steadily increased her impact, joining the committee of players filling in for the Fever’s injured stars, and applying the kind of pressure a playoff team needs as the postseason approaches.

Alysha Clark – Mystics (eliminated from playoffs)

Even with Washington out of postseason contention, Clark contributed solid outings last week. She had nine points, four assists, and two steals in Thursday’s loss to Phoenix, and followed up with seven points, two rebounds, and an assist in Sunday’s loss to Indiana. Clark continues to provide veteran court presence even as the Mystics close their season.

Odyssey Sims – Fever (clinched playoffs)

Sims continues to shine as the Fever prepare for postseason action. She scored 13 points and dished out four assists in Friday’s win over the Sky, then added six points, eight assists, two rebounds, and a steal in Sunday’s victory against the Mystics. With Indiana already clinching a playoff spot, Sims is providing steady production to help the team maintain momentum heading into the first round.

Aaliyah Nye – Aces (clinched playoffs)

Nye scored six points, grabbed two rebounds, and added a block and a steal over 16 minutes in Thursday’s 97-87 win against Minnesota. She drained a pair of threes and logged her highest minutes total since August 3. With Las Vegas locked into the postseason, Nye is getting valuable reps as the Aces prepare for playoff matchups.

Nalyssa Smith – Aces (clinched playoffs)

Smith reached double figures with 10 points on five-for-eight shooting in Thursday’s win over the Lynx, adding four rebounds, a block, and a steal in 26 minutes. Smith is currently questionable for this week due to concussion protocol, but is a key player that the team will look to have back come playoff time.

Playoff Picture

The WNBA playoffs are set and will feature the Minnesota Lynx (33-10), Atlanta Dream (29-14), Las Vegas Aces (29-14), Phoenix Mercury (27-16), New York Liberty (26-17), Indiana Fever (24-20), Golden State Valkyries (23-20), and Seattle Storm (23-21).

The WNBA playoffs are set to begin just days after the regular season wraps, with the first-round matchups scheduled to tip off this Sunday.
