Recap: Dorie, Isabelle Harrison Lead Glow Past Rhythm, 84-72
NASHVILLE — Forward Dorie Harrison came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points and added three rebounds as Glow overcame a slow start to secure an 84-72 Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball victory over Rhythm in the first game of Wednesday night’s doubleheader at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
Harrison, who earned the first Game MVP award of her career, received MVP 1 distinction and registered a career-high 607 leaderboard points after making 4-of-5 field goal attempts, including a 3-for-4 effort from three-point range, while adding a 3-for-4 showing at the free throw line.
Forward Isabelle Harrison added a team-high 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field while grabbing nine rebounds to claim MVP 2 accolades and a season-best 572 leaderboard points.
Guards Zia Cooke and Rebekah Gardner contributed 11 points apiece, while forward Natasha Mack and guard Bria Hartley each chipped in 10 markers.
Center Tina Charles, making her debut as a captain, garnered MVP 3 honors after scoring a game-high 20 points with 15 rebounds. Guard Kia Nurse added 12 points for Rhythm, while forward Alysha Clark tallied nine points with eight rebounds.
KEY MOMENT
Glow used a 21-3 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to break a 54-all deadlock and take a 75-57 lead it did not relinquish. The Harrison sisters ignited the rally by combining to score nine points.
LEADERBOARD IMPACT
Gardner moved back into the top spot on the leaderboard after collecting 527 points in the win over Rhythm, but holds a 205-point advantage over guard Odyssey Sims, who plays in Wednesday’s nightcap between Gold Rush and Eclipse.
RHYTHM NOTES
- Rhythm fall to 2-8 on the season, including an 0-4 mark against Glow in the season series.
- Center Tina Charles made her debut as a captain on Wednesday … Team leaders are now 14-17 in their debut contest.
- Charles also authored her third double-double of the season, including her second in the last three games, after scoring 20 points with 15 rebounds in the Week Four opener on Wednesday … She has eclipsed the 20-point mark three times this season.
- Charles also becomes the sixth player in the league to pull down 15 or more rebounds in a game this season.
- In addition, Charles claimed her sixth Game MVP award this season, which ranks second among the 41-player field.
- Guard Kia Nurse registered her eighth double-digit scoring effort this season … She has now scored at least 10 points in 18-of-21 career AU Pro Basketball appearances.

- Glow initiated a captain’s challenge with 1:40 remaining in the third quarter on a defensive foul called against forward Isabelle Harrison, which was unsuccessful.
- Glow was limited to just 10 points in the first quarter, matching the lowest scoring period by any team this season … Eclipse scored 10 points in the opening stanza against Glow on February 20.
- Glow had six players score in double figures against Rhythm on Wednesday night … It is the fourth time this season a team has registered six players with 10 or more points.
