Week Five of Major League Volleyball play featured a productive week for the Omaha Supernovas, who rattled off two straight wins led by Reagan Cooper and a season-high offensive performance on Sunday.

Cooper, after taking a back seat for the first half of the season while reportedly working on fine-tuning the defensive side of her game, has taken a key role in the team’s starting rotation and made a big impact on the stat sheet during Week Five.

She reached her season high Sunday in Orlando as the Supernovas fought back from a 2-1 deficit to close out a five-set road win over the Valkyries, 3-2 (25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-9). Cooper posted 26 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks in her most complete performance of the season.

Sydney Hilley led the offense with 52 assists and added seven digs and one kill, while Brooke Nuneviller racked up 17 kills and 16 digs. The win pushed Omaha to 7-3 on the season and extended its winning streak to three matches.

Cooper’s breakout week started Thursday in Dallas, where she delivered a team-second-best 14 kills and five digs in Omaha’s 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-23) sweep of the Pulse.

Hilley distributed 42 assists that night and chipped in two blocks, two kills, and six digs. Nuneviller added 11 kills, a team-high 12 digs, and one ace in the win.

For Dallas, Natalia Valentin-Anderson tallied 36 assists, 12 digs, and two kills in the loss.
