Lindsey Vander Weide and the San Diego Mojo finished the regular season on a high note with three victories in Week 16 of the Pro Volleyball Federation.

The team’s win over the Columbus Fury on May 7 was key; it punched the Mojo’s ticket to the playoffs. It’s been quite a turnaround for the Mojo who started the season 1-5 but have won 11 of their last 16 matches.

Vande Weide was an offensive leader in the win with 17 kills on 39 attempts (.439) and eight digs. She carried that momentum into Thursday’s game versus the Orlando Valkyries where she had the best performance of her season. The outside hitter had 30 kills, a block, and an ace. Paired with her 14 digs, it was her sixth double-double this season.

San Diego closed out the season facing the Fury for the final time, winning the match 3-1 on Sunday. During Week 16, almost half of Vander Weide’s swings resulted in a kill – she had 51 kills on 104 swings (.490) and averaged 5.3 points.
