Mover of the Week: Sam Geiersbach
Sam Geiersbach scored eight goals for Team Apuzzo in Week Two, including a career-high four goals against Team Moreno to close the week. She received MVP 1 and MVP 2 nods for an additional 75 points.
She made the largest jump up the leaderboard, rising 25 spots into No. 7 heading into Week Three.
Friends Turned Foes
Taylor Moreno will see two former teammates on the opposing side of the field this week. Week Two teammates Ally Kennedy and Charlotte North rose to the No. 3 and No. 4 spots on the leaderboard, respectively, to become first-time captains.
Kennedy earned 412 points in Week Two, including 250 win points. She posted four goals with three assists, nine ground balls, and four caused turnovers in Week Two.
North leads the league with 23 goals and 30 points. She trails Kennedy by just five points after picking up 435 points during Week Two. She netted 11 goals with one assist for Team Moreno.
Win Points in the Balance
Team Apuzzo swept their matchups in Week Two for 275 Win Points. Close behind was Team Moreno who went 2-1 but still picked up 250 Win Points. The team won eight quarters to make up for its loss to Team Apuzzo on Sunday.
Familiar Territory
There’s a familiar battle happening at the top of the leaderboard between Sam Apuzzo and Taylor Moreno. Apuzzo ranks No. 1 after Week Two with 905 leaderboard points and will be the Gold captain for the first time, while Moreno is 96 points behind in the No. 2 spot with 809.
Moreno has a slight advantage over Apuzzo with 480 Win Points compared to Apuzzo’s 440, but Apuzzo is dominating Stat Points with a league-leading 345. Moreno has 209 Stat Points this season. They both have 120 MVP Points heading into the penultimate week.
