Following her 10th-place Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball finish this fall, Brittany Abercrombie is gearing up for her Major League Volleyball season with the Orlando Valkyries. Her preseason featured some intense competition as her squad competed in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil. The Valkyries became the first American professional volleyball team to compete in the high-caliber international event.

The Valkyries entered Pool B alongside defending world champions Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano (Italy), Dentil Praia Clube (Brazil), and Zamalek Sporting (Egypt), with the top two teams advancing to the knockout stage.

In their opening match against Imoco Conegliano on December 9, Abercrombie paced the Valkyries with nine kills on 16 attempts. Still, the defending champions made a statement in that first matchup, taking the match 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19).

The Valkyries faced Dentil Praia Clube the following day in a more competitive showing. Abercrombie tallied a team-second-best 13 kills and posted two blocks, tied for the team high in the match. The Valkyries stuck close to Dentil Praia through three tight sets, falling 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 28-26) after battling late into the final frame.

The Valkyries closed their tournament run with a historic 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 26-24) victory over Zamalek Sporting on December 11, earning the franchise’s first FIVB Club World Championship win. The victory secured third place in Pool B for the franchise.

Abercrombie is now set to enter her second season with the Valkyries after guiding the team to an 18-10 regular season record, capped by a four-set win over the Indy Ignite for the 2025 title.

She was named PVF Most Valuable Player after setting league records for kills, kills per set, attacks, and points. She delivered 27 kills with a .387 hitting percentage in the championship and earned All-League and Opposite Hitter of the Year honors along the way.

Abercrombie is one of thirteen AU Pro Volleyball players set to compete in the 2026 MLV season. Her campaign with the Valkyries is set to begin on Friday, January 9, versus the Grand Rapids Rise.
