AU Pro Volleyball Players Honor Pilar Victoriá with jersey patch
Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball athletes are honoring a member of their community they lost this season.
Pilar Victoriá, a member of the Puerto Rican National Team, Texas volleyball alum, and long-time pro passed away in August while playing overseas in Turkey. She would have turned 29 last week.
In remembrance of Victoriá, the athletes are wearing a patch with a heart and #21 on their jersey this season.
From the Victoriá Lopez Family:
We deeply appreciate Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball and its players for their gesture of respect and solidarity in honoring our daughter, Pilar Marie. Although she is no longer with us physically, her legacy of joy, humility, resilience, and sisterhood brings us comfort. We hope her life inspires many girls and that, through sports, they not only find a path of possibilities but also values to guide them every step of the way. May her story motivate future generations to be strong, noble, and always united, both on and off the court.
