Tori Vidales
Biography
Personal: Vidales is a former member of the Athletes Unlimited Softball Player Executive Committee. She decided to attend Texas A&M when she was 14 years old. Vidales has worked as a softball analyst for the SEC Network. She enjoys being involved in the game of softball both as a player and with broadcasts. Vidales' hobbies include reading and makeup. She also enjoys watching YouTube videos, TikTok, cooking, and playing Fortnite. Vidales has a dog named Dak. She lists Texas A&M coach Jo Evans and travel ball coach KC Jackson as people who have made a difference in her life. Vidales was involved in musical theatre and drill team along with being a cheerleader as a child. She also participated in soccer, track and field, swimming, and basketball. Vidales served as junior class president in high school. She competed on the diving team in high school and won the regional championship. Vidales took three years of American Sign Language in high school. She wears No. 29 in honor of her father, who also wore the number during his playing career. Vidales' walk-up song is "I Just Wanna Rock" by Lil Uzi Vert. Her boyfriend, Naazir Muhammad, is a professional ballet dancer.
2024 AUX Season: Vidales matched the best finish of her Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball career with an eighth-place effort. She fashioned 1,166 leaderboard points, including 326 stat points and 640 win points. Vidales tied for second in the league with four Game MVP awards, including three MVP 1 commendations. She tallied 100 or more leaderboard points in 6-of-12 games, including a pair of contests with 150 or more points. Additionally, she tied for the league lead with two performances of 200 or more points. Vidales was also one of four players in the league to surpass the 250-point mark in a game during the season. As a starter in all 12 games, she batted .378 with 14 hits, including four doubles and three home runs. Vidales accumulated 27 total bases while scoring eight runs, and was second in the league with 16 runs batted in. Noteworthy performances include going 3-for-3 with six runs batted in, including a double and a home run, against Team Alo on June 23 to garner MVP 1 notice and a season-high 250 leaderboard points. Additionally, she received MVP 1 laurels on June 11 against Team Wiggins after driving in the eventual game-winning run with a ground-rule double as part of a two-hit effort. Vidales hit a pair of doubles on June 19 against Team Edwards to earn MVP 3 recognition, and secured MVP 1 honors and 210 leaderboard points after hitting a home run against Team Clark on June 19.
2023 Championship Season: Vidales closed her sixth AU Pro Softball season with 914 leaderboard points, including 590 win points and 244 stat points. She was honored as a Game MVP three times. She was a starter in all 15 games and finished sixth in the league with a .311 batting average. Vidales belted two home runs with seven runs batted in. She authored a five-game hitting streak from August 12-20 and opened the season with a two-run home run against Team Rhodes to earn MVP 2 honors and 190 leaderboard points. She claimed MVP 3 distinction after a 2-for-3 performance with a run scored against Team Zerkle on August 6. She finished Week Four with an MVP 3 effort against Team Davidson, going 2-for-2 with an RBI double and a run scored. She reached 100 or more leaderboard points in a game four times.
2023 AUX Season: Vidales earned a share of 20th place in the league standings. She accumulated 792 leaderboard points, which included 570 win points and 182 stat points. On June 15, she received the MVP 2 accolades after Team Mulipola's 7-4 victory over Team Zerkle. Vidales started in all 10 games and had an impressive batting average of .361. She recorded 13 hits, including two doubles. Vidales also contributed seven runs batted in and scored five times. Remarkably, she was the only player in the league to have a hit in all 10 games. She had three games with multiple hits, including a 1-for-4 performance against Team Zerkle on June 15 where she drove in four runs. On June 14, Vidales had back-to-back two-hit games against Team Garcia and Team Zerkle. She also had two hits on June 19 against Team Filler.
2022 Championship Season: Vidales placed 10th on the leaderboard with 1,492 points. She ranked sixth in the league with 452 stat points and was a starter in all 15 games. Vidales was tied for fourth with 18 hits, including five doubles and five home runs. She tied for second in the league with 16 runs batted in. Vidales hit safely in 10 consecutive games from July 31-Aug. 26, with three multi-hit efforts. She posted a 3-for-4 effort with a double and two runs scored against Team Jaquish on Aug. 6. Vidales also went 3-for-4 with a double and a run batted in against Team Chidester to finish Week Three. She drove in four runs with a double and a home run against Team Chidester in the Week Five opener and hit a home run in back-to-back games against Team Mulipola and Team McCleney to start Week Four.
2022 AUX Season: Vidales finished with 966 leaderboard points to place 18th in the league standings. She was a starter in 11-of-12 games and hit .317. Vidales tallied 13 hits, including four doubles, a triple, and a home run. She also drove in seven runs and scored six runs. Vidales opened the season by going 3-for-4 with a run scored against Team Ocasio on June 13. She tallied two hits, including a home run, against Team Fischer on June 19 and also registered back-to-back two-hit performances to end the season.
2021 Championship Season: Vidales accumulated 1,336 leaderboard points to finish 16th in the league standings. She tied for 10th in the league with 120 MVP points and was a member of the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball All-Defensive Team. Vidales was a starter in 13 games and posted a .375 batting average. She registered 15 hits to earn a share of eighth place and also belted three home runs. Vidales was one of seven players with 10 or more runs batted in and also drew seven walks.
2020 Championship Season: Vidales earned eighth place on the leaderboard with 1,690 points. She also ranked sixth in the league with 1,270 win points. Vidales batted .365 with three home runs and 12 runs batted in. She tied for fourth among all hitters with 52 at-bats while her 19 hits were tied for fifth. Vidales tallied a league-leading six doubles and accumulated 34 total bases, the sixth-highest total in Athletes Unlimited.
Prior Professional Experience: Vidales played for NPF's Cleveland Comets in 2019.
International Experience: She is a member of Team Mexico and competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Vidales hit .222 in six games with four hits, including a double, and two runs batted in. She posted two hits against Australia with a double and two runs batted in. Vidales posted a .500 batting average during the Americas Olympic Qualifier with nine hits and seven runs batted in. She finished second at the 2019 Pan American Games with a .471 batting average.
At Texas A&M: Vidales was a four-year letter winner at Texas A&M. She started all 240 games from 2015-18 and fashioned a .355 career batting average with 65 home runs and 219 runs batted in. Vidales closed her career with 246 hits, including 37 doubles and a triple, while scoring 198 runs. She was one of three Texas A&M softball players to play on an Olympics team. Vidales was a two-time NFCA All-America selection, earning Second-Team notice in 2018 and Third-Team honors in 2016. She was also a four-time NFCA All-Region performer and earned All-Southeastern Conference First Team and All-Defensive Team accolades in 2016 and 2018. Vidales was a member of the 2015 SEC All-Freshman Team and All-SEC Second Team. She is Texas A&M's all-time leader with 198 runs scored, 480 total bases, and 219 runs batted in. Vidales also stands third in program history with 246 hits and 164 walks and ranks second on Aggies' all-time ledger with 65 home runs. She registered 1,200 putouts, good for sixth on the school's career list. Vidales led Texas A&M in runs scored and slugging percentage three times and also paced Aggies in total bases all four years. She hit the first home run in Davis Diamond history on Apr. 29, 2018, against Auburn.
